View Full Version : mothering!!
well from what i read on how to make a plant a mother u are supposed to grow that plant, harvest it and cut all the branches except the bottom 4, then stick it back under the cfls on 18/6, is this true? and i was also wondering, say if i grew my plant in say a 5 gal bucket, do i have to leave it in that 5 gal or can i switch it to a smaller pot after havesting it to maybe a 10-12 inch pot? small grow space!
and if this is true when can i start taking clones from my mother!?

well thats one way.....but what your talking about is RE-vegging a plang after it has been harvested. this is an ok method but some plants do not reveg as well. so for me the best way to make a mother plant is to.............
1.grow from seed abunch of plants
2.once the plants are old enough, take clones from each plant.
3.once the clones have rooted, flower the clones and keep the plants that were from the seed in veg(18/6)
4. after you have havested the clones (seeded plant still in veg), taste and sample the plant you like the best, and keep that plant as a mother.

Feminized and autoflowering are 2 totally different traits.
Fem beans from a non-ruderalis line still need a 12/12 schedule to trigger flowering.
Yes, you can make a mother from fem beans. But for the reasons already hashed and rehashed in the strains and seeds section, I think a mother should be grown from regular seeds. Remember, she's going to be the mother of all your future babies... you don't need any of them going herm on you because of weak genetics.
