Feel free to contribute to this guide, or even making one for other areas of our (wonderful) state. I'd like to see a guide for Greenville, Columbia, Myrtle beach, Charleston, and possibly North Augusta? Other areas as well, as they come, but I'll start with the headshops in our the Columbia/Northeast/Lexington/Irmo area.
Conscious Creations: First off is my personal favorite, though they've been slow for a few months since school let out, is Conscious Creations. This little shop has an amazing selection of great pipes at great prices. The owner, Tzima, is one of the greatest people I've ever met, and her employees are both extremely friendly. There's been many-a-time that, while waiting on my hook-up, I just spent some time in CC talking with the girls that work there. As per standard practice, you have to ask to go into the back room, and no use of "B-words".

5/5 Stars.
Disorderly Conduct: New kid in town, and sister store to "Disturbing the Peace", it's selection is still developing. Given a few more months, and this friendly place will be a star in our city. As far as I know, they are the only shop in the Columbia area that actually sells Vaporizers. This, and a decent sized selection of, for a lack of better word, 'stuff', make them a must-see. Don't be disappointed by it's smaller-size or it's college-crowd. Some of their pipes are very, very nice. And just as nicely priced.
As far as I know, Disorderly Conduct is the only Hookah Bar in all of the Columbia Area. This alone makes DC worth checking out.
Information:
617 Harden St
Columbia, SC 29205

4/5 Stars. Moderate selection with good prices. Bonus points for Hookah Bar.
Time Warp: I wish I could say so many nicer things about this place. It's a little shack on the side of the road, and you get what you expect. Lots of Dead merchandise, good many grinders and stuff of that like. Quite a few moderate-quality pipes in there. The problems aren't in the items being sold, it's the people selling them. The owner's of the store are a little slack, to the point where there's never any water-pipes for purchase, and anything that you want will take a special order, meaning a few more weeks. Defeats the purpose of going out to a headshop and not going online. Very laid back rules-wise though. The biggest problem is the fact that they are NEVER, EVER open. I advise you call in advance, because it's family owned and operated, so sometimes, when business is slow, they just leave. This shop has passed hands many times over the past four to five years, and was once a much greater headshop, and once a shitty porn store.
Information:
203 West Main Street
Lexington SC 29073

2/5 Stars. Small selection, limited availability. Friendly, though.
Natural Vibrations: Wooh boy, if you've got money and a taste for high variety, this is your go-to spot. The smoking goods are located up-stairs and if I recall, which I may or may not because of memory problems, there's a low-hanging ceiling that had a good time bashing me on the head. Beware the ceiling while going upstairs. Anyways, this shop's selection is outrageous. Some of the biggest, thickest water-pipes I've ever seen in there. Triple percolators, glass-on-glass, side-cars, oh my! This huge selection brings a problem, and it's in the form of cost. They have a water-pipe that's a little under 3 feet tall, but a little over $800. That's a bit out of my price range, but may be just in your's! Check them out. Great selection of incense as well.

4/5 Stars. Amazing pieces, horrible prices.
The Barnyard Flea Market: I'm not joking when I say this. Some great prices on some great pieces, and even better paraphernalia. There's two table-based shops running 15 feet from one another, but I prefer the one ran by two stereotypical stoner-guys. Much better selection, much friendlier, and lots of accessories to go with your new water-pipe. The shop set up by a female is just as nice though, and probably more of interest to people who prefer a straight-up pipe. She has a great selection of other goods as well, and she's extremely friendly. I highly advise you check these spots out. That's if you can get past the extremely trashy setting that only a Flea Market can provide.

4.5/5 Stars. Great selection, shitty atmosphere.
Disturbing the Peace: I haven't actually been here, because it's located all the way out at the Village of Sandhills. Not actually in the Village, but right across the street. Wonderful place, the Village, but way out of my way. I've heard great things about Disturbing the Peace, and intend on making my way out there. It's supposedly the big sister to Disorderly Conduct, and if it is indeed a 'big' sister, then I expect to be impressed.

?/5 Stars. Can't rate, haven't been there.
Anyone else have anywhere to add?
And how's about a sticky, if someone finds this useful.
