Question about a law

Some friends were telling me that it is legal to smoke weed on your own property. This means that if a cop were to come in your house and you had a lit joint next to you or in your hand he wouldn't be able to do anything. I don't believe this, but is it true?

i guess it would depend on the state

but just about everywhere thats called probable cause for a arrest for possession. then they could come back with a warrant and search .

just because its your property still doesnt make it ok to 'them'

thats why if you smoke. smoke where they cant see/smell from the street.

How do people come up with stuff like this? Absolutely untrue. If it's illegal to possess in your state, like all states, then it's illegal in your home too.
