How would you survive and Ice Age?

Let's say in the near future things get a little out of control and every major nation destabilizes and it all goes to pot....hehe.


The climate shifts radically, the lows start getting lower and the highs get higher. Tornado's and hurricanes become as common as sunny days are now. The ocean level rises and changes the shape of every continent. There are 6 week droughts, followed by 6 week blizzards.

At night it's 50 below on the equator and 200 degrees in the daytime.

What would you stockpile in order to survive, remember there are thousands of starving people who will fight to the death for what you obtain and horde.

Who would you save, how would you survive the insane weather?



Are you gonna curl up and die? Hell no you're gonna survive....if you're smart enough...



So using what mankind has learned in the past 4 thousand or so years, how are you gonna survive just like your prehistoric ape brothers did in the last ice age.

Remember the ice age is gonna last close to 50 generations or roughly 1000 years. (assuming you have kids between age 20 and 25).


This one is gonna be a little more difficult than mindless zombie attacks.

I'll update every now and then with advice and techniques I come up with.


Example. Think insulated greenhouses, using ice frozen at night to cool off in the day and subterranean shelters. Water distillation and processing food so it will last a long time.

What modern tools that we take for granted now will become invaluable?

I cant think of any detailed plan, too stoned, i can think of a few things though.

some sort of bunker with plenty of dehydrated canned food
a water collection and purification device
most importantly i would joint a group with others for mutual protection.

I would hope that I was frozen instantly, preserving my body and mind so that one day, in the distant future I could be unfrozen and put on display at a museum. And if I died, well I would find comfort in the fact that I was naturally selected at one point to live.

Sit in the pool during the day and by the heater at night for temperature control. Find a place to freeze food. Look underground for water. Grab an assault rifle and go pillaging for anything else.

under armour and remington would be my saviors. i'd eat unarmed liberals for breakfast.
