What do you believe in? Why do you believe it?
I'll go first.
I believe religion is a bunch of crap. Ignorance has lead us to believe in things such as the gateway theory. I lost a friend because he found out I smoke pot (cause my fat sister has to tell everyone I got caught) and he believed that pot one day wouldn't be enough and I'd try other stuff such as crack and heroin and I'd become a crack-head and screw everyone's life up. I'm not doing crack or heroin. I believe it's a stupid thought. He's basing what he thinks about me on what he thinks is the worst thing I do, he doesn't know that I will do these things. We were all easily influenced at some point, and at some point everyone has been. I believed my dad's friend when he told me you were supposed to have three testicles. I was devastated when I only found two. Is it far fetched to believe that we made these religions as an answer to why when we were so capable? And well, I don't know why you would follow these ideas. That's why I asked, "Why do you believe it?"
Now I'm all worked up about my ex friend and my sister, pisses me off.

karma... do to others as you'd have them do to you.... do good out fo the kindness of your heart and you will be rewarded, do bad, and you'll face punishment 3x worse.
because it ust makes sense to me... and i've tested it over and over and it's yet to fail me... also it doesn't require some dedication or going ot church or any of that crap... the only stipulation involved is for you to live your life as a good person...

Time to have a little fun...
Do you believe breathing is useful?
Do you believe the heart pumps blood around the body?
Is your name... (fill in the blank)?
When you answer these questions become aware of your feelings. Get used to and familiar with the feeling of being sure about something.
Do you believe the sun is coming up tomorrow?
This time check where in your mind you see the image of the sun coming up.
Next step. Find something you want to believe about your self or what you will achieve in the future. So maybe you want to be able to enter a state of relaxation that is ten times deeper than you've ever been in before. Make an image of yourself with that quality as if you already have it. Take that image and pin it into where the sun is coming up and feel that feeling of certainty that you can achieve that state.
It works the other way. You can think of something you are not sure of. Then put an image of you believing in god in that position and feel the uncertainty grow:wtf:

Are you enlightening me of your bowel movements?
Are you blown away by such a cognitive feat?
Are you putting the image of what I said into the place in your mind where you keep your bullshit detector?

We store information in our brains in pictures... sounds... feelings... tastes... smells. Playing around with these modalities changes what information is stored. Someone may succeed in a tough exam. When you ask them about it they may say they always believed they would do it. Believing that you will achieve something in the future is a big motivator. Having doubts can be a drag on momentum.

i believe in laughter
i believe in pain
i have faith in the things i can see and feel - sometimes
i believe there was a beginning
i believe there will be an end
i haven't the faintest idea how these things come about and i really don't care
i don't believe in god
i don't believe in complex spiritual ideologies
i have no faith in the judgment of men - sometimes
i don't believe in good
i don't believe in evil
i have no patience left for the dogma of consensus and no pity for the fools of blind belief

a mind bound by tradition and dogma is even less useful than one that is spilled out across the floor. while the former only serves to carry on antiquated notions and amplify the falsehoods of the past, the latter might at least be a filling meal for some passing mongrel.
