I agree with Matt. Rock is great...but it's usually not my first choice when high [although some of those songs do hit the spot]. I absolutely LOVE hip-hop when high...as there are so many unique sounds in one production rather than just those crunching guitars and loud drums.

I CAN SEE you probably HATE hip-hop...so, just saying, this post was not a dump on rock, rock is great...I was just stating a personal opinion/preference. Please don't yell at me haha.

I don't know...it seems like the first compilation has a deferential feel; like that the classic rock genre accompanied the first real mainstream surge of mj celebration, and the template for mj music hadn't really been created (except for jazz, but that was more underground), so the rock artists had a clean canvas on which to paint the influence of the herb. Perhaps those early days were the apex of songs that were good to smoke to, or maybe we just associate them with mj first out of habit.

If it's not already here, Dark Star-Grateful Dead, Stairway to Heaven-LedZep, Over the hills and far away-ledzep, I don't like deep purple or the beatles.;)

dude, my film teacher last semester was the biggest James Blunt hater of all time. Towards the end of the semester he'd sing "you're beautiful" all the dman time. Imagine a balding feminate 50ish male singing that.
