Please read through this. Ive decided its time for me to stand up and fight for what I believe in. Some close friends and I have decided to start a small pro-marijuana movement in our city. Hopefully it will eventually grow with the help of other interested marijuana users. Organizations such as NORML are doing what they can to help the political part of the process. But I believe alot of the reason marijuana is illegal is because of the false bad reputation it has. Its sad that many people still consider cannabis an evil herb. The demonization of marijuana will continue until people stand up and spread the truth. We will be posting flyers, handing out pamplets, etc... This will all be funded out of our own pockets. All Im asking of you is information. If you have or would like to write a paper, create a flyer, have any good ideas, have good information, etc... it would be greatly appriciated if you could send it to our email. If you would like to be credited we would be glad to give you your due. Or if you would like to keep your name out of it thats fine too. This wont be easy, we are hoping that there are enough people in this world who will support us and offer their help.
edit: sorry cant put up me email here its against the rules. just post here and we will work something out.

My advice to you is...
Call up your local NORML chapter ( or other cannabis activists in your area), and tell them that you and your crew want to help out.
You'll be more effective that way than trying to start something new.

That was actually the first thing that we thought to do. But as we read up on it it seemed as if they didnt really do much to inform the public only politicians. And how I look at it is if the public is made aware of the truth then it will be much easier to influence politicians with the majority on our side. Thats why we are launching a "mass assualt marketing" plan to inform the public. We dont plan on getting as big as NORML or anything but just informing people and getting them interested in what we are doing would help. Maybe potheads will see what we are doing and become motivated. Thank you for the advice though.:hippy:

Call them anyway and tell them what you want to do. They can help you with materials, and their name carries a lot of weight. You'll get a better response if you use materials with a recognizable and established name. That way, you've got a national ORG with lawyers on your side, so you're not 'just a bunch of stoners'.

Do you think they would be down with what we are doing though? Because I do plan on donating to NORML but I didnt think what we are doing is their cup of tea. But I do agree that being backed by them could make things much easier.

If you are serous, they will help you. Especially if you come to them first to ask them what materials to use, and how to approach the public.
If NORML won't help you, try Marijuana Policy Project, or Americans For Safe Access, or Cannabis Action Network.
One of these will be a good fit for sure.
What city are you in?
