Hello, I have read much of the information and tips on this and other boards and decided that I'd also start a grow log. I'm a newbie on the growing front, but have plenty of determination to make it work.

Here is the basic setup:

6 bagseeds, all 6 germinated, but only 5 made it
Rubbermaid box setup
4 in inline fan out, 8 in fan blowing in fresh air via 10-8-4 in cupler, vent on top
6 23w CFLs on posts, timer is set for 20 on, 4 off.
1 digital temp gauge
soil is a mixture of black gold, potting soil, sand, minor nutes, seems to be alright, plants were just moved into the larger pots

I'am about 2 weeks into the adventure and will post some pics in the next message. Generally I think that I've got all the bases covered, but I'm sure that something will go wrong eventually. Please let me know if this looks good or if I need to add more / different lights.

Hello again, here is the week 3 progress. I added two 18" long florocents, removed one of the fan couplers (now a 7" intake tube), and am working on making the overall setup more stealthy. A big plastic box on its end is kinda odd looking.....Plants are doing well, they seem a little small, it seems that there is enough lighting (6 CFLS @ 23w & 2 18" tubes), but I'm not sure. Take a look please:

Update:
I repotted the group into 1 gals, they were def. ready, wish I'd done it sooner. I turned off my 4" inline because it was super noisy, and my temps actually are doing a few degrees under the previous days....The plants are looking good, they started at the beginning of the month, when is a good time to top them or train them in any way?

Here are the pics:

Here is whats been going on in the box:

All five plants are nice a fluffy like this (2 others are more narrow leafed), somewhat short, already stinky. They are getting regular water (last time w/SuperThrieve), and have been given no other nutes. Temps running in the low 80s

Is it to early to tell sex? I think that this is a female, but its my first real shot at this. They have grown about a month, is it time to switch to flower? The boxes are fairly big and the plants are still on risers...

im pretty new to this my self but from what i read the plans grow another 20 - 40 % after flowering, upwards and outwards. so it depends on what how you are doing on space. if they are still on risers it might be about right then you have the option to remove it when they grow.

have you trained or topped them yet. theres some wikid forums and manuals on here, im not expert. but it may be worth topping them, to promote growth around the lower sections and reduce height, but then you will want to veg them for another week or so.

you dont mention how many nodes you have, but from what i have read the general rule of thumb is at or after the 4 and you should be fine.

due to your space constraints it might be worth lst the lower brances after cropping. this will promote them to grow upwards and you will have more bud sites exposed to the lighting

as for sexing, it should be possible to tell from pre flowes, from what i have read these are different from the pistils, with the male plants having a tiny set of balls and the femal a wispy like tail or preflower.

im not to up on soil as i plan to grown in dwc, but from the pictures your plants look a healthy green and don't seem to have any nutrient burns or problems.

i am no expert but have learnt a lot from this site. the green fog has some really good grow logs, and there are a lot on here, if you need the answers this is definately the place to find them

anyway lookin good dude

peace and progress

Plants are looking good, I have looked many times and cannot determine the sex, guessing female until any male-ness is shown. The plants are one month old, from seed and are doing perfect. The soil PH was low (6) and the water PH higer (7) so the levels worked out.

Please check out the pics below, keeping in mind, they are varied bagseed--

Should I goto flower or let it veg a bit longer?

They are quite stinky and I have already installed a c. scrubber to cut down on the nice smells. Like the rubber maid setup idea, working fairly well so far, also switched out to full 5500k lights from a 2700k mistake in first 3 weeks (as you can see they are green and quite nice, so no apparent harm done)

pics taken after watering, they were drying out faster then before......

Any thoughts? :stoned:

Okay, I've read enough to make me switch this box over to flowering mode, I switched the lights over to the 2700s and moved the flos up a bit. The plants all have pre-flower activity and I believe that they are still females, but I check everyday

Time schedule wise, what 12-12 block do most people use? The evening idea seems nice, but when is the watering and other maint. done? postings are nice...
