I've observed that you're likely to be more prone to hermies with feminised beans, however myself I absolutely HATE growing 4 plants and getting 2 or 3 males...the hermie factor doesn't bother me, I'd rather know what I'm growing will be a lady..:stoned:

Standard for sure. I'm squeamish about fem seeds. Plus they are a total ripoff.

Standard. I like the surprise. Like when you're not sure if it's male or female, so you take it home from the bar, go to the bedroom, turn off the lights, take down their pants and....SURPRISE!

so-called 'feminised' seeds are garbage ... seeds are already ridiculously high-priced, without paying more for faulty genetics ... hermie-prone, and ruinous to good seedlines ... patience ... you only need one good female, and ya can clone the hell out of her ... :smokin:

I would rather use feminized, after I was told about that Dutch Masters Reverse even though I never used it, it sorta stopped my fear of hermies.

hmmmmm ... Quote: "even though I never used it" ... :wtf: ... don't know about you, Orangeman, but in my life, advertisements usually make things sound better than they are .... :smokin:

I know at least one person on these boards who has used reverse for quite a while and has had nothing but positive and effective results from it, it does work...

oh, it may work, I'm not saying that it doesn't ... I only point out that touting a product you've "never used" isn't really helpful ... I, on the other hand, have only had a handful of males, in over 40 years of growing ... I have never used any substance in an attempt to influence their gender ... so, if I used this stuff, how would I even know if it worked ? ... thought to ponder ... I was told once, that tearing up a piece of paper, will keep elephants away ... I have seen no elephants, so far, does that mean the paper-tearing worked ?? ... I'm not trying to be a smartass, I'm just saying that non-blind tests would need to be done, to really prove it ... there's a lot of people that think SuperThrive is the cat's ass, too ... I'll debate that one, every time :D ... anyway, I wouldn't want to grow out a seed, that I felt needed some sort of chemical protection to avoid hermaphrodites (I've NEVER had a hermie in my garden, either) ... I have the world's best luck, and I recommend buying Standard seeds ... :smokin:

In using feminised beans if you're worried of getting hermies this stuff works great...I may use it someday...but honestly to me, there's worser things than hermieism..more feminised seeds for free is a hell of a deal to me though

I've grown standard beans twice, and first go was 1/3 female second go was 1/4 female...I'll never plant standard ones in my closet again...maybe outdoors if I could find a place, but I'd rather not waste buckets/soil/time/light/space on growing a male plant

Yeah that's why I was drawn towards it. I wasn't just drawn in for the simple fact it said it prevents hermies. I don't go for stuff that easily lol.

standard all the way. Cannabis populations tend to be heavily female assuming optimal conditions. 12 of my last 15 plants from regular seed were female, mostly by giving the tap root of the germinating seed 4 or 5 inches of downward soil depth. I don't care for cloning cuz I get bored without a new strain once in a while and I never sell.

man, I was really hoping reading this thread would lead to a definitive conclusion..

although, it seems like all of you in favor of standard seeds have oodles of growing experience under your belt.

My feelings exactly.......the additional money paid out for feminized seeds doesn't seem to counter the male to female ratio to make it worth spending the extra money.

Have a good grow!
