anyone heard of this before Click (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bermuda_Triangle), well they say anyone boat, plane or whatever who goes within this triangle just dissapears.

What do you think of this?

Yea, I've heard about it. Seems kind of unrealistic to me.

Not everything dissapears there, I read alot about that when I was checking out some cryptozoology stuff for fun. Its kinda cool though. However I dont really believe in stuff like that. Im sure theres a opractical explanation.

Hmm yeah i would love to go there maybe on a boat or something and see what happens but on the other hand i wouldn't..

I remember those Bermuda Trianlge stories from over 30 years ago.

When we went to Bermuda there was a special boat trip to the Triangle that you could do as an excursion. Everybody that did it said it sucked.

Yeah, I don't think its anything extraterrestrial like some other whack-os. However there are plenty of possible explanations such as methane hydrates, magnetic field distortions, tropical storms, waves, and the gulf stream...just to name a few.

You would think that if their was actually something happening there that the government would stop all traffic in that area and that they wouldn't do boat excursions there.

i did a report of it in grade school...
people say it's bubbles in the sea, aliens, atlantis...

its in between miami, puerto rico, and burmuda..
a lot of ships, planes are never heard from again after passing that area....
compasses go crazy too..

must be something to do with extremely strong magnets or something but i dunno, they cant be strong enough to cause planes to crash?

Spoken Word
07-16-2007, 12:02 AM
the theory i thought was the most realistic was the bubbles caused from rifts in the sea....not small bubbles.. huge bubbles that could cause a boat to sink...
but then the planes.. i don't know.. it's still a mystery..

my girlfriend was watching something about the triangle the other day. she said it has strong magnetic forces. atleast thats what the documentary said.

Its weird how they lose radio contact and stuff aswell though im sure theres a reasonable explanation for it but its just that no one can get close enough to find out for sure, Maybe someone should try rowing up on a wodden dinghy boat lol

there have been alot of mysterious disappearances there that are to this day unexplained. alot of people point to ufos. and still others say its a sea creature of some kind. the best explanation ive heard is that the earths magnetic field isnt nearly as strong there as it is in most of the world which would theoretically mess with magnetic compasses. ive also heard that there is a large build up of methane ice at the bottom of the ocean there and that a large bubble from that could possibly sink a ship. but i think now days with the invention of gps i dont think you would really have much to worry about.

not everythign that ventures there goes away.... it just has one hell of a high ass rate... it's abnormally concentrated...

i beleive in it personally....

This Day in History 1945: Aircraft squadron lost in the Bermuda Triangle (http://www.history.com/tdih.do?action=tdihArticleCategory&displayDate=12/05&categoryId=leadstory)

^^^ one of the most famous disappearences, period.

it's very well documented, including radio transmissions.. tehre was a show a while back about the triangle... they showed how ships maybe have been engulfed in minutes... methane gas eruptions... it's very plausible too... yo'ud have to find the show to really understand how, but it is very likely..

however they were unable to explain the planes... they've yet to find a strong answer for the malfunctioning navigation euqipment and showed even under extremely high concentrations the engines planes use can still fly through methane glass clouds...

i still belive it tho, i don't think it's satans mouth that opens up and swallows everything or something like that... but the evidence is there... it actually has hte highest concentration of unexplained disappearing craft of anywhere in the world...

since so many people believe in it, research is scarce...

yea thats what i saw on the history channel.

slipknotpsycho i think i saw the same show you are talking about with the methane gas eruptions. and i also saw one about the magnetosphere i think they are both probably factors.

yeah i just remembered that after goign through the posts... i'm not sure if they tested it however... but i remember them mentioning how magnetic fields coudl have distorted navigational equipment... and being over the ocean at night and having your equipment screw up is almost an instant death sentence (namely your altometer, you could be flying downwards at a 45 degree angle and not even know it)

The number of wrecks in this area is not extraordinary, given its size, location and the amount of traffic it receives. Many of the ships and planes that have been identified as having disappeared mysteriously in the Bermuda Triangle were not in the Bermuda Triangle at all. Investigations to date have not produced scientific evidence of any unusual phenomena involved in the disappearances. Thus, any explanation, including so-called scientific ones in terms of methane gas being released from the ocean floor, magnetic disturbances, etc., are not needed.

there is supposedly a pacific death triangle as well where there have been lots of unexplained wrecks. i think its off the coast of japan or something like that.

Theri alot of strang things on this earth such as points on the planet where gravity is not normal, or areas where magnetic felids are highly eratic.
The bermuda triangle has many of these phenomenon happening their at all times and some occurances not at all times. First scientist have found metha lakes which vent erraticaly in different places all around the triangle. What this does to a ship passing buy above a burst vent is physics change and basicaly the ship becomes a big anchore insted of the boyant ship, To a plane passing some where above the recently vented methan a cloud forms and travles for a while before disbersting evenly throught the air, A plane even a jet can stall out in this cloud. The old world war II planes that ran on a kerosen type fuel can even blow engines when saturated with concentrated methane gas for a long period of more than a minute. Their is also a erratic magnetic feild which I belive is a result of the earth not forein, in the area. I have seen this first hand when I was offerd the yoke on a sesna flying from the islands to Miami. I was buy my self in the front for close to an hour when I was like we should be over land already then I change direction and the compas did a 360 dance over, and over, and over, etc. I called the pilot to the front he said this has happend a couple times to him and he looked for what seemed like days and pulled out a hand held GPS. When I asked why we wernt using GPS from the beging, he said ther is also and MP phenomena that happens in the triangle as well. An Mp is Magnetic Pulse, he said if eletrical chips are not protected at times they will bunout and stop working so the GPS was a emergance thing. I was kind freaked while he was telling me but I started to see where we were at on the GPS we were about 120 Miles north east of Miami, we were floting back into the frakin atlantic when the compase was telling me were dead on. we made a be line west and followed the coast back south. I was about to get on the radio and be like HELP WERE FUCKIN GONNA DIE, we roll in to the airstip and its getting dark and I asked him why he didnt turn on the lights, he said a computer controlled the lights and alot of other things and the MP had burnt them out years ago, he also said he always turns his cell phone off before take off when going through the triangle cause he has had to buy so many cause of the MP. Their are alot of thing going on in that triangle even till this day shit disapears and reapears in the triangle, I will look for a pictur taken from arial photo of ghost ships, ships from the early 1900's apear then disapeare

Haha. I fish out of Miami and the Keys all the time. Sometimes run over to Bimini for a long weekend. I fish right smack dab in the middle of it all the time, and I am still here. Bullshit.

There are loads of sites on the internet about the Bermuda Triangle its strange, however draw a triangle over any busy shipping or aircraft area anywhere in the world and research missing boats and planes and you will be surprised at how many "dissapear" it makes a good story though.
Unfortunately it also inspired Barry Mannilow to write a bloody song about it.

Cheers

What do you think of this?Well my father was in the Navy and he sailed threw it a couple times during his time served. He basically said it just fucked with the radar and mechanical mechanisms on the ship. Nothing more nothing less.
