People getting banned?

Im just curious why so many people get banned? Ive read the rules and theyre simple enough...is there something Im missing? Just seems like some very helpful people were kicked and Im very curious why.

When people in here get banned it's for a good reason. We just don't wake up one morning and say what the hell, that bastard is going down!

As for getting into "why" a person was banned....that is considered personal information. There are times when you can pick up on it with past posts from the individual but in general if it warrented a ban the posts were deleted.

Oh yes, and there are times also when we receive delightful e-mails asking that we have a pleasant day!:wtf:

It is that simple, break the rules no matter who you are you are going to be punished. They are very fair and just around here. I have seen people with a lot of senority and 5,000-10,000 posts get a little vacation. Most of the time it is flaming or trolling so it is really simple. You call someone names or tell them to f off, or tell them how stupid and useless they are, you will get a vacation. Keep doing it and it is a permenant vacation.

I have a curiosity about banning on this site. I know many other sites will issue a short term ban like 3 days, 1 week, ect unless the problems persist then a permanent ban is in order. So my question is does this site issue temporary banning, before permanantly banning a member?
Not that I have any intention of getting banned, I was just wondering what approach this site takes on the matter.

^ you nailed it right on the head. Unless you do something awful you'll get a 3-7 day ban and if the problem continues you get a permenant one

if you do something small you'll get a short ban. You have to do something really bad to get a permanent ban right away

Yes it takes a lot to earn yourself a perma ban...honestly, you have to purposely try and earn that right.

And as far as curiosity regarding bans, well, you'll just have to let that one die off. There's no point in announcing to the rest of the community why so n so was banned, as it will most likely only create more hostility and uproar which would disrupt the normal lax atmosphere around here...

If everyone were to just read the forum guidelines and cruise the forums without a chip on their shoulders, our jobs would be a lot easier and no one would be banned lol.

Well, that's not set in stone.

If someone has posted something completely wrong, of course you can call someone stupid. If what they posted was useless, you can tell them just how useless it was.

It's more when you really go out of your way to swear as much as you can and insult them that you start getting infractions.

And it takes alot to get perm banned - so the people who do get perm banned deserve it.

Posting up crappy advice is more of a hindrance than anything else, and worthy of a bannage. The site doesn't have the "QUALITY marijuana and hemp information" bit in its banner for nothing. The offenders had already been warned by MULTIPLE members and at LEAST one mod. One had already been banned for posting misinformation before.

As I just found out, you can be banned for making up serious scenerios in the sexuality forum, that aren't true, just to get a laugh at the serious responses, and then admitting it was all a joke, and laughing at your own joke.

I see why I was banned, as this site is a serious site, but again it's a marijuana site, and you have to expect some people to be blazed and want to have some fun. I would like to believe the same would have happened to anyone posting a story like mine, but I am under the impression that pyscho4bud is not a fan of me.

I'm wondering though, why you aren't banned, for your signature which is providing links to another site, which all are youtube, which I believe is promotion, and that's clearly a violation of one of the rules.

I really would like an explanation for that.

I always find this sort of thing amusing...which is why I leave my mood that way. Do I know you? Have we ever met? To me everyone in here is just another name on the monitor...nothing more or less. I don't REALLY know if your a man, woman, white, black, asian or if you really toke the herb or are just some damn cop in disquise! NOT saying that we have ANY cops in here....just an example.

Ya want to know the people that I'm NOT a fan of? The ones that stop in my house and rip me off, the ones that disrespect my lady, and the ones that try to nark me out..........I don't see anyone in this forum having that capability or anyone that ever will.

When you go into you-tube there are really no advertizers that conflict with the ones that we have nor is it a competive site...........seems that YOUR taking this a bit personal by that statement dude. IF management didn't care for it don't ya think that they would have brought it to my attention by now?

I sometimes wonder why I haven't been banned for some of the things I post.
My biggest affliction is my compulsive need to retaliate against bigots and the small minded.
I also have a hard time dealing with obnoxious posers.
