sometimes when i get stoned and i get hungry, i'll think about how i really should watch my eating habits, so i down a whole bag of mini-carrots or a basket of fruit.

so i'm just wondering, does anyone keep a healthy munchies stash, knowing that they'll be stoned and be hungry, but not wanting to eat all those empty calories?

i'm eating chicken salad right now, not too bad right?

That's a great diet idea. Raw fruits and vegetables, and chicken, are much better for you than processed food.

Trail-mix fruit and nuts is a good snack also, and much heathier than candy.

I love raw veggies like baby carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, and yellow squash, and I make up low-cal dip with fat-free plain yogurt and ranch dressing mix. Salty and crunchy and yummy. Takes a little while to prep the veggies, but you can also get most of that in salad bars if you prefer to let someone else do the slicing and chopping.

I can be persuaded to eat almost anything that involves ranch dip or dressing. But above all things kissed by the flavor of ranch, I really love raw vegetables. A close second is French fries. Not nearly as healthy.

Orange sections and grapes and cherries are also nice for the sweet alternative. Somehow I think of finger foods when I think of munchies.

Sometimes I get the desire for some nice juicy fruit when I have the munchies. It's very refreshing to the mouth....especially with cotton mouth.

I get the munchies for my favorite cereal (the cold milk feels good on the throat and it helps with the cottonmouth) sometimes. Cereal+milk is incredibly heathy, assuming it's not like Cocoa Puffs LOL :D

A clean, COLD, nonbruised fuji apple. I swear it's fun to eat it stoned it tastes so, so good.

Trail mix is good too and it's easy to make your own. Just take one trip to the store to pick up bags of what you like in it. Whatever assortment of nuts (walnuts, pinesnuts, almonds, peanuts, cashews, mmm), dried berries (cranberries instead of raisens [sp?] :D), m&m's if you want some chocolate in it. YOu can mix it all and save it in a container and take what you need as you need.

Birdgirl, except for raw carrots, I don't really like vegetables raw but I'll usually toss a whole lot in a salad. I like the different premade salads you can buy in your grocery store because it's all prepared (I just do a quick rinse just to be safe) and I know I can eat it before it goes bad. I'll add plenty of bell pepper, carrots, onion, and top it off with a little honey mustard dressing. I'll also pick up fresh mint and chop a good amount of that up and throw it in the salad, it complements that dressing really well (andhelps with your digestion :) ). You should try it sometime it's really good. And usually what I'll do is take the salad and add everything but the mint and dressing, then store it in a container. When I want to have some I just need to chop the mint and I'm set.

Broccoli soup is good too. I love it. Just take like a base soup mix, like leek soup/dip mix (Knorr makes a good one), and add chopped up broccoli in with everything. Cook it as usual and it comes out great. I also like to make the stalk into somewhat small pieces about as wide/tall as a penny (or a little skinnier and taller) just so they all cook at an even rate. You could probably add potatoes if you wanted to.

See, this is something we could have in a diet/exercise section ;) lol, I'm still hoping we get that sections, but I don't know... :(

meh i wish i didn't have to worry about sugar :( but i always check the calories, fat, sugar, carbs...just everything. i'm very curvy and always tend to put on weight in places that seem good at first, but then, if i'm not careful, i'll start to gain too much weight in those places and bleh it sucks. so i have to be really careful with what i eat, and i always try to eat healthy, with a little junk food thrown in here and there. i drink tons of water - i rarely drink anything else, except for the occasional diet soda and a few alcoholic beverages here and there. i usually work out for a bit every day, sometimes i'll just walk on my treadmill, but it's still exercise which is always good :)

Popcorn is good if you don't load it with butter and salt.

Fruit is pretty nice when im stoned. But I confess that I have really bad eating habits when high, I just want fat, sugar, grease.

Salted or flavoured nuts are my favourite. I try to eat mostly fruits - grapes are awesome - and drink fruit juice most of the time, although I'll still go back to ice cream sandwiches and chocolate once in a while.

i want to give you rep for this, because i'm in exactly the same boat, but i don't know how and don't know to message someone, either. i see the little reputation thing on the top-right of all MY posts -- how come it's not on top of anyone else's? :(

You might need more posts before you can do that. I think it's like 50 posts, then you get some more privelages. It will be denoted by a plus sign ( + ) next to where it says Registered, below your name. I think thats it.

i agree with ar15 about fuji apples. nothing relieves my cottonmouth better. also: bran flakes, string cheese (more protein than fat), otter pops (25 cal), yerba mate tea (suppresses appetite).
