I was looking through a 4x mag glass which was the only one in the town ,£7.99 I WAS RIPPED I RECKON.
Anyway they looked clear but most of the pistols have changed colour and as they are blueberry i was hoping they would get a few shades of purple on them.THEY LOOK VERY FROSTY THOUGH.:D:smokin:
My question, is there anyway of judging the plants by the pistols as well cos i dont think that glass is powerfull enough (what a bummer).was reading a grow log and it said go for 80% -20% cloudy/brown for peak harvest ,
thats very exiting.

color of the trichomes is the only true test for harvest. pistils change color whenever they want, mine turned brown weeks before I harvested by following the change in the trichomes. 30-60X pocket microscope (with built-in light) is best. Go by the average color of the trichs, over the whole plant, top, bottom, middle. I sniped very, very small samples from the bud leaves and placed them on a white paper plate for viewing, at least three samples per plant.
Hope this helps....enjoy.

I have one of those Radio Shack pocket microscopes with the light. I can't see a thing. Its very difficult to focus. Do you hold your plant still or do you cut some off and then look at it. When I try to hold it still, its difficult to focus. Any tips from anyone?

nose hair clippers and twezzers are very good for taking samples to view under the microscope, laying on a white plate plate, in another room while sitting down, relaxing, so you can see what you are doing....:pimp:....that's as simple as I know how to make it...

taking samples like you said worked for me this evening but because of the eye glass i have like a jewellers type it was blocking the light out but i simply lifted the leaves up with tweezers and it worked fine so cheers for that mate.:D
