Bud size

I just grew some delicious Blueberry. Total CFL grow. That means the buds weren't huge. But I did both LST and ScROG so it was okay. I've read where bud potency doesn't matter so much on bud size or yield. That's my question. The smaller buds on my plant were plenty potent and I'm not sure if the hassle and expense of hooking up and HPS and system and cooling it is worth the hassle. I'm happy to just grow 1-2 plants at a time. I know yield would go up a lot with HPS but would bigger bud size result in more potent buds? I don't think so right now.

I have seen no evidence to suggest that flouros grow less potent buds than HID systems either, so if your happy go with it. Personally I smoke alot of weed, shit my 1000w HPS cant keep up with me.

whatever your reasons are for getting an HID lamp, it will be worth it. bigger denser buds are always in style

The relationship between potency and bud size is virtually nil. IF you are growing enough WEIGHT to suit your needs, and your potency is making you happy, there is no reason to change it up. HIDs are great for pumping out weight, for sure! But you can grow tasty stuff on the small scale just fine.

agreed - my present HPS grows aren't any more potent than my fluoro-tube grows were, but YIELD is another story - :thumbsup:

any pics of your yield? I'd like to see how much a cfl grow could yield how many Oz did you get in the end?

Only had 1 Bluebery female come out. Harvested 1.5-2 oz of dried and cured bud. But it's excellent bud. Used 4-42W CFLs warms for flower and another 2-42W soft whites, on clamps, when temperatures let me. Those BB were pretty sensitive and anything over 85F stressed 'em.
