Bullshit, man! Explain....this seems totally impossible. I mean, lighters are pretty modern and matches have been around forever. Forgive my ignorance if I'm wrong.

Did you know in watch ads they put the hands on 10 and 2 so the watch is "smiling" at you so you want to buy it that much more.

I never knew the reason behind the 10:10/10-2 thing and I have always wondered. I've asked sales people in jewelry stores repeatedly. They've never known either. This makes me happier than you can know to finally find out!

Cannabis, I just think that's fascinating about the lighter-before-the-match thing. I watched one of those How It's Made shows on the Discovery Channel the other day about matches and that was cool.

Yeah its weird isn't it everyone would just generally assume that the match was made first.

that surprised me also, what a great bit of useless info cc lol. does anyone use matches these days? i picked these up the other day in a bar dont use matches but took them as they were free and thought they would be good for lighting the bbq.

Haha i just went to Official Rolex Website > Timeless Luxury Watches (http://www.rolex.com) to check if that smiling thing is true, and the title of the site is "Official Rolex Website> Timeless Luxury Watches" and then I thought, wow if they are timeless, doesn't that defeat the purpose of wearing a watch, cause it should be able to tell time haha.

(Yes, I know timeless has a dual meaning, I just found it funny.)

The Rolex website is keeping real time. I guess what I said holds more true to print ads. If you look at a magazine like GQ it is filled with watch ads and they are almost all positioned like that. I think that is where I read that too.

If you go into the collection and look at their new creations, they are all set to smiling faces .

Did you know, during WW2, if you worked in an ammunition factory and got caught with matches, you'd be imprisoned to make an example.

The duck one has been disproven, they do echo! And i've heard them echo on the Norfolk broads!

I wonder if theres any sites out there that list if myths are true or false?

Actually no, I thought matches were invented first lol. Then why is it that back in the day everyone always had matches, I never seen any lighters when I looked at movies and documentaries of the past. And those guys were always using the sole of their shoe to spark that bitch lol.

Me too. For me it's one of those smells that conjures up childhood memories. I can remember when i was like 5, on holiday on a boat [this is what started my love for boats and mechanical engineering] and i can remember everytime my mum lit the gas cooker smelling that smell. And when they go out. Same smell reminds me of when my dad used to light his gas lamp for night fishing, while i was in bed. I could smell it coz my door was open and the galley[kitchen area] was right outside. They're good memories.

Clearly, it was the egg.
Dinosaurs were laying eggs thousands of years before the first chicken.
