Could this mean a showdown with Iran? I know they are cracking down on Iran. The Iranians are Shia and the Iraqis are Sunni. The US is arming the Sunnis so they could can help fight Iran covertly. These 2 groups both fight the US and each other.

The US basically wants to do what it didn't do in 1979 when the radicals took over. They want regime change. They want a capitalist government/ parliamentary democracy.

Actually with the way China is and its current city structure, Iraq and Iran being way more modern wouldn't be so bad reallyBut I don't know.

This is a routine rotation of ships in the region. The third carrier is arriving to replace one of the two carriers that have been stationed in the region.
