Well... i have been trying to astral project since long ago. Until today, i never had any experience which showed me in an unmistakeable way that i really astral projected. But maybe im too skeptical, and even if im A.P.'ing (Astral projecting) maybe im not recognizing them as it.
So, i will describe an experience i had today. It very similar to lots of experiences i had, and i cant decide if its a real astral A.P. or just some weird dream.

As i usually do, i did lay back, relaxed my body, concentrated my mind into having an A.P. and examining everything around me, in detail, for make sure that i really had an A.P. Anyway, as always happens,i did fall to sleep. Not a very good start i know... :p.
After some dreams, i did wake up. Then i noticed my bedroom was slight different. There is a small table by my bed (i know there is a word for this tables, but i cant remember), and usually its filled with some books, my clock, mobile phone, etc. Well, when i awakened, this table was empty. The first thought i had was "did someone entered here when i was sleeping and cleaned-up my room?" It took some time until i remember that now i live alone, so nobody would enter here anymore.
Then i realized that i wasnt really awake. But it was very weird, cause i could swear that i was awake. I looked at my hands, and they were as they always are. I looked to my entire body, and it was like it is when im awake. I think even the clothes i was wearing were the same. Then i examined my room. It was cleaner than it is usually, but i could not note further differences. Or, rather, i couldnt remember very exactly how it was when im awake, so for me it seemed pretty much the same, only with minor differences.
I remembered that i did read something about looking at a mirror when you are A.P'ing, then i walked to the bathroom and looked at the mirror. I did see my face, as always. It was somewhat different, like if the mirror was distorting it a bit, but it was clearly my face.
Then i went to the room, and looked through the window. The neighborhood also seemed pretty the same. Then, as i knew that i wasnt awake, i did jump to my neighbour's house. I live at the second floor, and would never do it awake, even cause the distance between houses is like 5-6 meters. Anyway, i jumped and landed smoothly at this house.
Then i looked to my house. It was as it is. But then, one instant later, i was looking to my house from the other side. Like... my neighbor can see the left side of my house, and it was what i did see initially. But one instant later i was at the right side of my house. After it i dont remember very well what happened, but soon i awakened.

After it i sleeped some more, and had this "weird" dreams, AP's, or whatever, again and again. Im used to it, i think it happens almost every night. Sometimes its too real that i dont realize that im not really awake. In this experiences i can do many things people say they can do while AP'ing, like fly, pass through walls, etc. But still im not convinced that im really AP'ing.

So, my question is: does anybody could tell me if im really astral projecting, or if they are just very real lucid dreams, or whatever?
If you want more detalis, just ask, and i will try to remember as much as i can.
Anyway, thanks in advance!

maybe your lucid dreaming...
when you have a lucid dream you can control it
if you are aware of what is happening in the dream
it's obvious you were sure to be aware of your surroundings, and i think you utilized your keen awareness in the dream state to control your dream

if your interested in astral projection, out of body experiences, and lucid dreaming etc... you should check out this program.. its really cool.

ive played around with it and it does work! and i understand the physics/biology behind it.

Thats a lucid dream man. They can be fun sometimes....you just have to remember who is in control.

Astral projections, astral planes, and all that jazz don't exist.

During an astral projections even the smallest thoughts will alter where you are/what your seeing ect. Since your table was clean i'm guessing you time traveled to a time when there was nothing on it..accidental time travel during AP seems pretty common, for instance my Uncle learned to AP and has gotten good at it. Once he came to my house in September and said there was a christmas tree up.

I astral projected a couple times and the beginning always seems normal, but once I start doing stuff somthing happens that confuses me so I wake up..they do seem like dreams but, i never wake up or remember dreams unless its time to get up..after an AP i wake up instantly which is proof enough to me. I recommend the book "Astral Dynamics"..forget the author you can do a search for it though..its like a school book for AP..very technical and complete.

Well... thanks for the responses... i will look that program, and the books too. And the fact that we can time travel while AP'ing would explain a lot of experiences i had...
But maybe i should have stated my question in another way:
How does can i know when im astral projecting and when im lucid dreaming? How to tell the difference between them?

lucid dreaming is waking up during your dream and knowing it is a dream. So if you're ever "conscious" and not in the waking state, whether you are controlling your dream, or not, then you are lucid dreaming.
