Looks like a high pressure sodium to me. I've gotten one for very cheap, around that price. Its just not as good, PAR wise, as more expensive ones.

you need more than just a bulb, you would need a ballast for it to function and you could do alot better with a higher wattage light say a 150 or 250 or possibly larger depending on your grow space.

yea i know all that stuff, i just wanted to make sure i wasnt mistaking this for a Low pressure sodium bulb, they have that same bulb in a 250 just not where i was looking. Thanks

That part # indicates that it is a HPS lamp. Here's a bit on info on low pressure sodiums for ya.........

You need a ballast for any grow bulb excluding the cfl's.....they have a self enclosed ballast right on the lamp itself.

the place you got the bulbs should sell the fixture witch has the ballast inside and make sure its for 120 volt and run awire and put a plug at the end of it white wire goes to silver black wire go's to gold!!!

the fixture would be better to have so you can hang it easy

i also seen those bulbs your talkin about i seen 100 watt and 150 watt they do look like they would fit in a regular socket but still like they said you need a specail ballast.

i do alot of electrical work and when we demo the building we through so many high pressure lights away it ant funny

thats why i havent bought one yet because ill end up getting as many as i want so if anyone knows anyone who does commercail electric work give them the word over time youll have the best one around for free!!! trust me

ill tell you what the next time we demo ill give some away just pay for the shipping im tellin you ill get like 20 at a time FOR FREE!!!!

That's really cool. You could sell them on ebay too even. A commercial HPS light would be great for someone just starting out.

our lowes has up to a 400w hps and metal halide but no fixture to go with it. and funny enough, they all cost the same from 70w to 400w, right around 20$
