I just got the complete discography and can safely say that these guys are the best musicians ever. 273 songs of pure genius. Anyone concur? Care to list favorites?

Great band, but the best? Nah.

I used to love them, bought about 12 of their albums, but I can't stand them anymore. Honestly, "pure genious", how do you come to that conclusion? I mean no offence, I'm a firm believer that if music does its job and makes you feel good, it's good music. But I got sick of them because every song, every album, was just the same thing over and over and over. Never something different, never any experimentation with soft songs or harder songs.
In fact I decided I hated listening to them when I realized every single song has the exact same formula:
Rhythm
Chorus
Rhythm
Chorus
Short Solo
Chorus
Rhythm.

So "genius" was a bit much. They do make some kick ass music that I love.

You and hundreds of millions of other people! I can still admitadly enjoy a good AC/DC song, and I think their stuff from Back in Black down was pretty good, it's really post-BIB they seemed to lose it.

They have some good shit insofar as instruments, but their vocals suck....and yeah, they stick to their same formula, so it's good for what it is but doesn't vary much.

AC/DC is the most ridiculously terrible crap. It's literally just the most generic form of rock and roll, an already highly generic genre, and that's why everyone likes it.

Oooh, I remembered: I love, love, LOVE the song "You Shook Me All Night Long..."
In fact, it's a fantasy of mine to one day play that song while being dominatedly fucked lol.

It all revolves around Angus Young. He's an excellent guitarist and there would be no AC/DC without him.
There is a formula with strict boundaries that they must maintain. Hence it is what they do within those boundaries that really matters.
It may sound monotonous but then so are the blues, punk, heavy metal...

You can't seriously tell me that blues and heavy metal don't achieve complexity exceeding AC/DC. If so you don't know your blues, or metal.

hey mate music doesn't have to be complex and ac/dc are not .
but they were one of the masters in the rock n roll riff in late seventies and maybe they released a few to many albums but if you think back in black is not genius then you dont get ac/dc, its not music for serious idiots who over anaylise there own arse, its just great bang your head music ,and never mind the albums ,you ever seen them.

That wasn't the point that I was trying to make.
Rather, that Angus is a great guitarist and largely overlooked when folks start rating the best rock guitarists ever...
Yes, their songs may be simple formulas but his virtuosity rises above the simplicity of AC/DC's arrangements.
BTW - My blues = Robert Cray, Freddie King, B.B. King, John Mayhall, Janis Joplin, Gomez, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Holwin Wolf (bad mofo!)...
