i'm hoping for at least 5 females

i have a MH and a Hps lamps is is ok to run them together
I got the mh for veg and the hps for flowering.....but this may not be enough watts for my garden....only 150watt each:(
Should i buy another light source, and do they need to be the same.....can i just go with some florec.? I'm looking for something that won't cost me an arm, lol

Use the MH for veg, and use both for flower.

i'm building my space as we speak....paint is drying, lol.....its about 2 1/2 deep 4 1/2 wide....8 foot tall......so i'm not really working with a large space at the moment. I just bought some florec. today. two 4 ft. bulbs in addition to the MH and HPS. Heat should not be a problem. I'm putting in fans and a duct system....also trying to figure out how to put together and mount my humidistat with exhuast fan, but i'm lost on that.
Any tips would GREATLY be appreciated

ive heard of using the different lights at the same time, but i think they had them on a circular light mover. will he need to switch the lights back and forth to get the same lighting evenly? just curious.

i think its a great idea to use both MH and HPS. it will give the plant both spectrums at the same time and more lumens. just be sure to keep the temputure in check.

thanks guys!! i have everything set up....accept for temp. gadge/humidistat with the exhaust fan. I bought it off a dude...so no intructions and i'm electronicly retarded...plus it looks older...no used a lot, just an old model.
I put in a hepa-filter, timer for lights, one fan inside space, one fan outside room to put in fresh are through door slits. Everything is grounded......lets see, what else.....Anything else you guys can think of????

...if you haven't popped the seeds yet....and have everything ready to go...

test the lights and fans in your grow area and check the temps (leave them on 48 hours straight)....a good, cheap battery thermometer (one that records high/low temps and humidity) can tell you if you can stay in the ideal range of 75-85 degree range and around 50% humidity. I place my thermometer between the top of the plants and the lights (but not in direct light)....enjoy....:pimp:...

just watched the video..
1. not bad music but could be better
2. the one real recommendation i can make is if you loose the tube lights you might be able to get the MH and HPS a little closer. with that much output on the HID's the tube light kind of gets pushed to the back.(not much results for that amout of space its taking up). thats just my two cents.
3. as for the blower: i dont really have experience with those or mounting them but i know you need airflow for your plants. you grow space looked good, you just need and get airflow in and out. are you willing to cut holes in your closet space doors?

i'm gonna end up building on an exstention to the space....that way i can cut the boards i build and not the walls....
closet doors are going...new extention partial box will connect to opening.
I just made a new light source....i need to buy materials for a hood, but...it's too late for that

from the pics, i think that was just perlite and vermiculite in your soil. it should be good. potting soil usually has some in it, and lots of people add it them selves.

...yes in the bigger pots there is perlite mixed.....I was refering to the little pots...i dunno if you can see them in the photos. There is no perlit mixed in that......but a little update...Most all have showed green, just waiting on three more to poke through...will have pics soon

they are doing great...i rearranged my lights. I'm having some issues with pH....so I will read up on that....i would rather use something from home to fix it....i.e vinegar...or whatever is used. But i will read about it first :)

When you find out what the pH should be for the medium you are using, there are two pH readings you want to take. (Well, there's others as time goes on but, for now, there's two.) The first is the liquid you pour into your pot. Whether it's pure h2o or h2o with nutes, you want to adjust the pH after mixing, before going into pot. Then you want to collect some of the water that runs out of your pot and test it. This will tell you the pH conditions in your grow medium.

Did you get your controls hooked up? You need your ventilation - it's important.

thanks for the info  I ended up buy a digital therm. and humidistat. As for ventilation....I have fans right now....pulling in/pushing out......But i have some tricks up my sleeve...I just need to go to the hardware store...
