Where does it all go?

lol, this is a small matter but I'm curious, so I wanna hear your thoughts. Every time I fill my Zippo with lighter-fluid, it works fine (of course). But if I leave it for about 5 days closed and not used at all, when I try to use it all the lighter fluid is gone! It's not just rendered useless, I can honestly fill the whole thing up again. And I really have to wonder, where does it all go? Where could it all go, the thing is never opened!

Evaporates to where though? Evaporation, last time I checked, means heat makes the molecules go up into the air. The thing's closed 100% of the time with no opening to leave through.

Yeah but its not air tight is it? It evaporates into the air i suppose, just a guess..

Well, it shouldn't evaporate that fast with the lid closed. My guess is there is a seal broken somewhere along the top of it, allowing the fast evaporation. Hold it upside down and see if it leaks.

Not air tight I suppose, but it would have to seep up through the wick then somehow get out through the edges of the lid which is tightly closed.

Well, I've filled it to the max and held it upside down, and checked every nook and cranny; nothing. I've decided to attribute this effect to magic.

mine does that too but its ok ill use the lighter fluid for somethin else cuz i hate the way a zippo tastes anyway
