Before I ask my question, I want to say just how great it is to have a place like this where I can get questions like this answered with such cool and non-judgemental people.

Anyway, I want to order some stuff off the internet and I don't know if I can intercept it from my folks when it shows up. It won't even matter that my name is on it.

So heres the question: Can I intercept it someway so that it won't show up at my house? For example, could I go to the post office and ask them to hold any mail with my name on it for a period of time? Or is there any other way I could get the stuff through the mail without my folks knowing?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the answer to that is no. In Ireland you have to go to the post office and fill out a form before they'll hold your post, and it's all post for your address not just post to an individual. Sorry :(

I think your only option would be having it sent to a friend's house instead of yours. Hopefully you have a few cool friends with cool 'rents. Or maybe you work with someone over 18 that would let you send it to their address. Otherwise I think you are screwed.

well i doubt you want to go tell the postmaster that you dont want ya parents to know your ordered something, they dont aprove of,
but in reality they really dont know who is who in a home by age ect
they may have info on post office box renters, but house hold demographics, naa
postal people dont know your age by your name on the letter.
unless they know you, which isnt likely,
as far as holding mail,.i think it would be all or none, like vacation time,
i dont think they would pick out yours and store them for you to pick up
and if they did they would see who it was who did that and that you was a kid and then maybe get nosey, wonder why a kid wanted his mail held COULD it possible be so he could hide his activities from his ADULT parents,. ? ya think maybe?
naa

i suggest having it sent to somebody else you can trust
for example if sent to a friends,,,,thier parents may not think about it much if ya friend says a nice lil tale about mixed up people filling out forms for free things
sent so and so's stuff here,.dammit ,,,,,here dad i'll give that to so and so he may somethning of mine if i WON anything or some line,,,i cant see me opening anyones else's kids mail if i thought it was a mix up in names and address
but i have no problem tearing open a package with My kids name on it
in fact its my job make sure they dont do crap like ordering things i dont aprove of
so if your parents where to ask i would say ya know what
maybe he sending it to a friends address......lol with his name instead his friends
hate to think im premoting your dishonesty and all but i hate to think of you breaking your mothers heart by ordering crackwhore magazine and she finding out the hard way

Damn. I ordered a bunch of papers and a grinder one time from herbalsmokeshop and fortunately it came one of the few days my folks were not home (very lucky, I am, for that), but I don't think I wanna risk it again.

Get a PO Box, you don't have to be 18 and if they ask what it is for that is none of their business. (Cost will depend on where you live, just go down to the post office to check it out)
