my first grow...need help please

hey all...

ok..these plants are 60 days old from seed...they have been under 24 hour 400watt mh from day 1...these are 8 plants in a 30 gallon dwc bubbler....they were not feminised seeds ,so i don't know which is male / female and i really want to start cloning soon..should i wait and allow them to mature more,or should i begin a 12/12 hour light schedule????...I want get rid of any males.....what is my best next move,with these plants??? wait until the internodes (branching) begin to alternate, usually around the 6th set of nodes, then switch to 12/12 ... after a few days, you should see evidence of sex ... :smokin:
UPDATE: I see from closer inspection of your photos, you have already started alternating, so go ahead and switch to 12/12 now ... :smokin:

If you want to clone...

Take (however many number you choose) clones from each plant. Make sure you have the plants and the clones labeled as to which is which. Let your plants recover from the cutting then flower your plants. Throw away the males, and their clones.

or

Take a clone from each plant. As soon as they have roots, put them on the 12/12 light cycle. Sex the clones, then toss out the males and their parents.

You really don't want to start flower and then reveg. That puts a lot of strain on your plants.

thanks...great advice guys...just made my first attempt at cloning,in a 8 hole,4 gallon bubbler...that small 4 gallon size res should be great for cloning,huh?...then,in a couple weeks,after they get rooted ,i'll begin 12/12 on the clones...Are the males good for smoking?i hate to waste good herb...picture updates coming soon....thanks again....
