On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream.

Have a good one!:s4:Democracy was not born on 1776. It goes back to the Greek city states and ironically, they were more dictator like.

A constitutional republic was created in 1776 with certain rights and freedoms that cannot be taken away even in a "democratic" society. True Democracy says that 51% can overrule 49%.
