I am new to growing and am wanting some advice.

I have two options for where to grow my plants 1) in the laundry room (minimal ventilation with fan) and 2) in a closet that measures about 2 ft deep 3 ft wide and 6 ft tall with a wood bar for hanging jackets etc.

My first question is which space do you recommend? Either space would be fine to use.

Next I have been reading endless debates about which lights to use etc. I guess I have narrowed it down to CFL or MPS. I am in a little bind with heat issues especially for the closet so which should I use. It seems like CFL will be the best option...am I right on saying this? Also do you have to use those expensive CFL grow lights designed for growing or can you use and type of CFL?

If yall could get me started with this I would greatly appreciate it. I am already familiar with the germination and whatnot about getting the plant going.

Oh and I will be growing White Widow.

hey,
first are you going to flower your plants indoors, if so
your gonna have a hard time getting good results using compact flouresents, ive seen it done and experimented myself and you need a shit load of them to get some half decent heads really it just doesnt cut it the same as a MH or HPS.

if you could veg your plants indoors to a disired hieght then condition and transplant outdoors for flowering would be your best option. works wonders if you dont have a great summer

as for your space, you could do a mini scrog in your closet but keep it small and make sure no to let em get to big before flowering, remember they will strecth alot durin flowering,

This is what I have decided to do:

1) grow two plants in a indoor closet with (3) 23w cfl per plant (about 4500 lumens per plant) and have (1) central 42w cfl.

2) upon completion of seeding and vegging I will use 175w hps in that same closet for flowering.

Sound like a good plan?

If I need venting I cant install a fan into the attic to release some heat.
