There's a big surprise.
My theory on this is that Bush commuted that sentence because Libby actually took the fall for Cheney, who was the real one behind the lying and coverup of the CIA leak.
The good news is this'll further drive Bush down in the polls, and he's already at rock-bottom. This will also be an additional boon to the opposing party in the next election! Every cloud has a silver lining . . . .

Thats crazy, pretty much dictating the law. But ehh.. democratic presidents have done the same thing, its a tradition of corruption.

During one of the Republican debates the question was asked it they'd do just this.........all but one said that they would give him a pardon.

The radical right strikes again........
This is from your link:
Bush's father pardoned former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger and five others in the Iran-Contra arms and money affair on Christmas Eve 1992.
President Clinton pardoned more than 100 people on his way out the White House door, including former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros and Whitewater scandal figure Susan McDougal.
Something should really be changed up about this pardon system! I can understand when a person has been sitting huge time for a crime that it looks like he/she probably didn't commit but to use this for the ol' boy club is a crime in itself.

There's a pretty big difference between a pardon and a commutation. A pardon clears the record. A commuted sentence just takes away part of the punishment but leaves the conviction there.
