Today was so awesome. I found out about this place in Mooresville NC. They have all kinds of animals just running around and you drive around on this 3.5 mile long trail. You buy a bucket of feed and just cruise along and all these animals come up to your car and eat out of the bucket.

They have all kinds of animals there, giraffe's, a rhino (hes is in his own little space), ostriches and they are psycho they will just come up and stick their head in your car window looking for food. When they see a car the will practically chase it down. The cutest thing was the baby pop belly pigs. I was very tempted to snatch one of them and take it home.

Your not suppose to feed the Zebras and I know why. The people in front of us were feeding them and all of a sudden it grabs the bucket and takes off with it and eats all the food.

I had a small incident while exploring the giraffe's. They and the rhino are pinned up but you can feed the giraffe's if they can reach you. I have a sun roof in my car and it has a shield on it. Well I stand up in the seat of my car and hang out the sun roof. I get the giraffe to come to me and it starts eating, I pet it and snap a pic. The trouble was getting back in the car. I have rather large boobs and I was wearing a snap button up shirt. On my way back into the car it gets caught on the sun roof shield and lets say some people got a sneak peak of my twin peaks.

All in all it was a awesome day. I don't have a digital camera so I used a disposable one, I'm going to get the pics put on a disc and then I will post them.

Anyone else been to a drive through zoo?

Yes! We have one of those here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. It's called the Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, and it's awesome. All sorts of endangered species, and you get to feed many of them. I fed a giraffe out of my hand, and when he stuck his head down into the car to be fed, I put my hand around one of his little antler nubs. It was warm!

I love stuff like that.

It was so awesome!! I cant wait to go back . Those ostriches scared the hell out of me at first. They gathered around the car and in went their heads. I didn't realize that there were so many different types of them either.

Yeah, here at Fossil Rim, they tell everyone to watch out for the ostriches and warn that they can kick and be mean. So we were not supposed to try and hand-feed them but to simply throw the pellets out to them instead and then roll up the car windows pretty quickly. They have everyone sign a thing indemnifying the park against potential auto body damage caused by ostriches! Those things look pretty ferocious. Many years ago they also had some baboons someplace in that park, but they were doing too much damage to cars and they ended up being sent to a more confined zoo.

The wildlife park used to be one of my son's favorite summertime activities when he was a kid. There was a petting zoo at the end of the animal park. We used to go and stay at a "safari lodge" down there overnight and then visit the nearby Dinosaur State Park the next day and see the fossilized dinosaur tracks. Now he's much too big and sophisticated for such activities. But I'm not!!

I'm the same way LOL. I was like a little kid lol. My husband was way more embarrassed when I flashed everyone, I was like so what I'm having FUN. How often do I get to pet and feed a giraffe?

The ostrich's never attacked the car or seemed to want to attack us just the food bowl. I cant wait to get the pics on a disc and post them. I have a pic of a ostrich halfway in the car trying to get to the bucket. I was shocked at how forward they were at approaching us, and me never being so close to one was a little freaky, but by the end of the trial I was use to them approaching the car.

I'm going back ASAP and taking some ppl with me but I'm not warning them I want to see how they react. I need to tape it.
