if u feel u need a break...like maybe for temp. or other reasons (this is a highly debated topic)...either would work...personally i like 24/7 but am experimenting with 22/2 at the moment in my grow cab. just to see what happens...i'd go with 20/4 if your looking for a light break but i'm sure many others will say 18/6...experiment and see what works best...personally my plants grow best with 24/7 lighting as long as they are properly ventilated and kept in the optimal temp. range 70-76 F...Ed Rosenthal is the guru of ganga in my opinion and he claims every hour of darkness is an hour of potential growth (photosynthesis) that is lost...but as i said its a hot topic

Yea, lots of debate on this subject. Root growth is more during darkness. I personally veg 24/7 for 4 to 6 weeks or until they show alternate sets of leaves. They get to rest when they flower. LOL I've been doing this for a while and see no need to change. Here's the girls at day 47.

and, now a representative of the 18/6 club :D ... I've tried a lot of light schedules for a long time, and never saw a dime's worth of difference, to be honest ... I do think my plants grow healthier with the 6 hour break, but, that's just opinion, I can't back it up with proof (whatever floats your boat)

Yeh i agree image reaper. ive tried a few myself. This is a well debated subject but something most growers will go through until they find what works for them. Its a matter of prefrence and you wont know what works best for you intil youve tried a few methods.I personaly prefer 24/7 first 3 weeks veg then drop to 18/6 until they go 12/12 works for me;).But a very intresting subject all the same.dave
PS nice plants

i use 24hrs as seedling and then i move back to 18/6 until i flower, i have tried 24/0 but it not worth the extra energy cost and not to mention your plants must be very healthy and your area perfect in all ways for it to be worth it.

24/0 , 20/4 , 18/6
I've seen no dif. over the years . I currently use 20/4 cause I have oldschool ballasts and wanna give them a break as to extend they're and the bulbs lifespan .
