We all have a trait or characteristic that we use to help us get what we want..
I, for an example use humor and kindness.
I have read that there are 3 distinct moments in your life before the age of 21 that develop the major chacteristics, that that mold who you are forever..:)
Is manipulation a trait or a tactic? It is constitutional to yours truly, so I would say it's a trait.

Thick Skin. Like rhinoceros hide.
Sticks and stones... etc...
I have had to take a lot of crap from a lot of people being a cannabis activist. Stupid jokes about my hair, my medicine, etc.
My life is not a Cheech and Chong movie, and I have had to remind people of that fact quite often.
But whatever. I don't care how much ignorant BS you throw at me because now we are winning. Medical Marijuana is taking hold across America. Cannabis will be legal soon.
Rhinoceros Hide.

All that matters 2 me is that, I'm in control of how I feel, most of the time
if i was all of the time I wouldn't appreciate, the most of the time part

I would say being able to stay friends with people is my trait.
I'm not the most popular of people, but I have kept most of my friends despite the cliques that they fall into. I have been through points where I have been talking with friends, then whenever a person from outside of their clique but is still my friend comes to talk to me, they just act like he is invisible. I find this really annoying because there is no reason they don't like them (Which I have asked before), yet they still push this cool facade of not caring about them. There is one extreme example of this which is still vivid in my mind, which is probably one of those three distinct moments you were talking about. These variations in opinions between cliques has really helped me establish what my main morals in life are.

I'm really funny, most of the time. I have a very "motherly" aura, so I'm told. I tend to take care of people as much as I can. I try not to complain a lot. I stick out bad situations, hoping for a bright side. I'm extremely low-maintenance. I'm also a manipulative bitch, so when being nice fails..I can still get my way :)

From my father;
I wear my heart on my sleeve and I'd consider myself deep. That helps with being nice and respectful...soo I usually get the best out of people. we're also hard-headed and stubborn.......
From my mother;
I believe in sacrafice so we are kind of cold in ways and I have the heart and determination to get what I want. And don't fuck with me......
both of them are manipulators and I'm better than both of them at it. haha
i have really strong genes.

I have strong genes too, i bought them at howies (http://www.howies.co.uk).
I am able to make a joke or laugh about almost anything.
Not sure its such a good trait though...

i can make the wife pretty much feel guilty and get almost anything i want by giving her a certain look... it's like i'm a little puppy dog...
i unno how to actually answer the question tho.... i guess kindness... people tend to be more helpful and willing to help if you're nice rather then being a dick... i'm very non-confrontive so i come off as really nice (if only people could mind read tho :p i just bite my tounge alot instead of telling a person off)

for me, simply it's perseverence. I'm patient and I don't mind working hard for a long time before I see the fruit of my labor. So long as I see it :)

Humor and a strong persuasive ability with words. I got those abilities from both my parents. My husband always says I'd have been an amazing saleswoman, and that's basically the sort of work I did for many years with advertising/marketing/speechwriting.

Man I've got an arsenal of tricks right up my sleeve...been reading too many weird books. :wtf:
Well, theres too sides of me.
I can be nice and funny.
But i can also get very angry, and i've got a bit of a temper on me. I'm a big bloke too, so people generally dont want to cause a fuss with me [i just think they dont want me to kick off] but i end up getting almost everything i want.
I prefer being nice though, i dont like my temper. The only thing it's good for is if i get jumped - coz i can defend myself and win fairly easily.

Stubborn and smart.
Not afraid of manual labor or long hours, although I have a cushy salaried job.
I'll work 3 jobs- done it recently too- I'd go back and wash dishes at a restaurant tonight if I needed some cash, I don't give a shit.
And I can defray bad situations with my wit. Kinda helps!

I am totally the same way...work is work..I have done ALL kinds of crazy shit to make money..
also the last statement..I can get out of more shit then anyone I know by survival thinking:)
One of the traits you gain in life is when you are finally out on your own. No mommy and daddy there to bail you out. You develop this characteristic when you are finally put into a sink or swim situation..will you survive?
and this is what you will do.

Yeah I was trying to think of a better term than stubborn... scrappy doesn't quite fit either... it's akin to that old Yankee 'make the farm grow in this rocky soil with only a shovel and a horse' sort of thing.
Give me the wrong tools, or not enough for the job, I'll figure out how to use them to get it done, dammit.

i am really really great at talking with people. great at making small talk and pretending that i am engaged in the converstaion and that i really care. i am also good at being very cordial and knowing just how people would like me to act in a conversation.
this helps when i am speaking with parents and teachers because i charm them right away. its about brown nosing subversively, and im great at that.
i read a book about my personality type and it kept stresssing how i would make an excellent salesperson or a politician for my ability to coerce people by word

Probably intelligence and articulation. I think I'm fairly smart with a large vocabulary and can explain about anything to anybody, short of atomic theory to a retard. And if I don't know something, I'm good at making it up.

I'm smart and I can get along with almost anybody. I'm also very passionate about the things I believe in. I am a very empathetic person.
I suppose bein competitive and aggressive are strong traits of mine that have helped me.
