yeah, so I'm a total dip shit at the mo. a 'noob' if you will... but a pothead nonetheless
so, the plan..
1st time grow, so i need 2 acquire all the gear b4 i start. except i have managed to pilfer sum seeds off a friend. (Californian orange bud) i only plan on growing 1 or 2 plants at a time as i have very limited space and do live with parent who is unaware of all this. I'm gonna grow in the bottom of a wardrobe, and try and hide it behind some crap that is already in there, so anyone that just glances wont notice anything. there's easily a space of 1X1ft, and a foot and a half tall. but could probably make it a bit taller as it would seem like i probably need to. after all there is only clothes in the way.
lighting
was hoping that like 2 cfl lights would b alright, but wen i looked on these forums, evryone keeps saying how shit they are compared to hps and mh. but would they be acceptable? or would trying to flower with cfl be a total waste of time? how much of a difference does it make?
and whats the best way 2 set it all up?/fix the lighting up?
Ur help would be greatly appreciated. xx

Outside only ,
Endangering your parents home / freedom w/o them even knowing qualifies you to be exactly what you have already refered to yourself as .

Wow, it sounds like you are planning on building quite the fire hazard.
Growing in your parents house- ESPECIALLY in such a dangerous way as that!- is beyond uncool.
What's wrong with growing in the woods?

well i grow (well use to did my first grow) in my parents house. WITH them knowing and i believe that this will be very VERY hard to hide from your parents IMO. i mean you have alot of work ahead to put together a grow cab it was for me and i did it with the help of my father (who wasn't really a help)

OR... you could just stash some weed in your mom's purse then call the cops on her and before they arive burn the house down. Good times!

Toksik - This is a very liberal forum and you can get away with talking about just about anything and using any kind of language you want and no one is going to really care.

But there are two things that most the users of this forum are very dead-set against and those are giving bad growing advice and growing in your parent's home without their knowledge and permission.

Bottom line - if it looks like you are trying to hide the grow from your mom, you're going to get a bunch of shit from people here. If your mom knows about your grow and you have her permission, you should say so outright and then, instead of getting a bunch of shit, you will get some real good ideas about stealthy things to do.

It's your choice - I just thought I'd let you know how attitudes flow around here.

What in the holy hell is your problem?

We're gonna come down HARD on anyone who:

-hands out shit advice
-advocates stealing anything
-puts their family/housemates/neighbors/etc. at risk.

If your mom REALLY thinks it's a good idea to grow, she would give you space in the cellar where it is safer. The idea of growing behind a bunch of stuff in a dresser... it's DANGEROUS. That's a fire hazard! Even if she doesn't care that you grow weed, sure as hell she cares about the family's safety. When you are older and have a house that you work for, and family to protect, you will feel the same.

That shit you just posted is completely out of line.

wen did i: hand out any advice? advocate stealing? put my family at risk?
i didnt say she thinks its a gd idea, i sed she dosnt mind. meaning, she'l let me do it, but she dosnt really want to be a part of it. and i dnt have a cellar or anything like that. so my options r realy limited. i obviously didnt think about it all too much. didnt think, oh yeah the lamp is gona heat up and burn the house down. i just thought fuckin wack it in ther and lets get goin.

she(stinkyattic) was giving you a list of things we dont really put up with. the first to dont apply to you, but you are putting your family at risk.

whoa this thread reeks of judgment. Let people make their own mistakes. This kid isn't going to learn anything from faceless entities telling him it's foolish to grow weed in his parents house. He already knows that; those who know nothing about weed already know that; so far there hasn't been any advice on how to make it safe and clandestine. He's going to make his own decision regardless of moral judgment, the least we could do is provide education concerning fire safety such as leave the light off when you're not there (not optimal growing conditions, but what the hell, he's trying to grow under 2 cfl's anyway). I know this is in breach of basic canna.com ideology, but I'm an iconoclast

If you aren't just blowing smoke (:smokin:) up our rears, since your story changed about your mom knowing, then I advise this.
Build your own grow box, tent style. Make the frame out of PVC tubing and the dimensions to fit in a corner of your closet. Cover with whatever material you can get that won't melt, spontaniously combust and won't let light out. Make a flap to open/shut and use velcro strips to keep it secure. CFL's don't get real hot, but hot enough, so you'll need a vent of some sort. Plants will smell after a point, so you'll need some way to get that out of there or filter it. Sounds cool to have a room reeking of the chronic, but it won't stay in your room.

In all honesty, and I'm not trying to guess your thinking/construction abilities, grow em outside. Accidents happen and their reach can be far and long lasting. If one does happen, try to minimize the ramifications to one person... you. It's easy to blow off opinions of people you don't know, especially when the opinions seem like attacks, but the opinions here are from people who know. Their gracefulness in getting the point across might be lacking, due in part to age, locations, experience, whatever... but if you can read between the lines and be open to the message, you might actually see that they are only trying to help you and yours, even if you might not be. I know how entrenched your thinking can get about growing, one little thought and then that's all you think about. Your young and have the resources to grow "safely" in the near future with your bro, wait it out, learn the craft, educate yourself. If you can't wait, there's nothing wrong with trying your thumb in the woods. Just no need to drag your mom into something you honestly know she isn't keen on. Respect her house and you'll be much more mature and earn her respect for it.

Good luck, bud.
