you will find plenty of info on these boards. look at "grow logs, FAQ etc". i am pretty new to but i don't think it was a good idea to put the MG on the seeds.

Lose the miracle gro. Seeds have all the nutrition they need in them and ferts will burn them when young. Rinse off the mg, change the towel.

Do a LOT of reading around the FAQs, and plant problems section to see what the common problems, symptoms, and cures are.

I strongly recommend growing in some type of compost, as it is harder to screw up, and even for a pro, has a lot of benefits, like stable pH and richness.

Welcome and happy growin'.

You from Wisconsin?

nah but I have a standing job offer at the university- i was there checking Madison out last summer, AWESOME town, reminds me so much of the town where I went to college! But better because of the lakes. Very nice, high five, I'll be back. :D

okay next step, the little white pointy thing is the root tip, you are going to plant the seed about 1/3 " deep with that tip pointing DOWN and cover it very lightly with fine soil and keep it moist but not soaked, warm but not hot, until the cotyledons emerge in a couple days.
dont use any prefertilized soil. the one that says seed starter is okay but you will still want to flush it first by running a bunch of water through it.
