Lol the only thing that he really did was ring their necks because they were trying to escape, as for the choking in the beginning meh. It's not really "disturbing" I've seen much worse with my own eyes. Two girls were fighting in my lunch room and this ass-hole officer that was convicted of killing a girl and got off (same one that arrested me, note that he's the school officer) came around the crowd, sprayed everyone with mace (including me) and kicked one of the girls in the back like BOOM and then he punched the other girl in the back of the head and maced them when they fell on the floor. He maces people so much we called him Officer Mace lol! It was kinda funny but fucked up at the same time. Now THAT should have been recorded and put on the internet. I'm glad I left that pussy ass school.

LOL one time it was this fat kid that wanted more food when lunch was over, he was like "I WANT FOOD!!!" and he tried to rush the cop and go through the cafeteria doors and he maced him too. That guy was at the water fountain for like 30 mins crying xD.

LOL Billionfold nice observation

LiveLeak.com - Arkansas cop violently arresting and choking skateboarding teenagers (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a34_1182897411)

They get up in the cops grill, run.....stalking around the dude holding hunks of lumber (skateboards) and you don't think that the cop will respond? LMAO! I think walking away would have been their best option.

Have a good one!

The cop was being as immature as the kids were. The only difference was the badge

QFT.

Any of you who think this arrest was justified is full of BS. I guarantee if they were weed toking skaters you'd be up in arms about it. I don't know about you but at 13 years old I think many would run, I know I have in the past. The officer did not need to use that much force and did verbally abuse those kids. I think the most I heard of them was the odd "Fuck", which to be honest considering the situation is pretty justified.

You mean there's skaters that DONT toke?

If they had done as they were told the cop wouldn't of had to use force.

He said "stay there" and the kid run so he chased him.

He said "stay there" to the girl then grabbed her before she had a chance to run.

Then the other kid jumped in so he choked him.

And i doubt the kids are 13.

fucked up video.

dude, there was no harm in them skateboarding. they are kids. if they started attacking his car, than yes arrest them. BUT, if they were just skateboarding and having it being banned, the cops should still have not used the force they did. no need for arrest. what the fuck else are kids going to do with themselves besides playing video games?

there is a thing called PRIORITIES. and catching skateboarders defying the law is not one of them. murderers and rapists should be top priority.

the problem is that our cops have become Nazis and think they can do whatever the fuck they want.

I order full restitution to the ones arrested. The officers who made the arrests are to be fined $500 each one week suspension without pay. The law against skateboarding in city limits is hereby struck down as unconstitutional. Let it be known that we will not tolerate abuses of civil liberties.

The kids were trying to calm the police officer down at one time, I heard one of them say repeatedly, it's alright man, as in just please calm the fuck down we are not going to fuck with you please don't put us in hospital. The cop treated them like they were armed robber's for christ sake! TOTALLY heavy handed. I don't hate the police, despite my earlier comment, just these scumbags who use it as an excuse to throw their weight around. Oh yeah, what a guy taking on a bunch of skater boys, what a hard man.

I'm assuming he didn't know he was being filmed the whole time. I got confused as to how many people he was arresting, it seemed like anyone who turned up at the scene was targetted by him, including the guy with the hidden camera.

I'm thinking that behind it was a few seconds of the kid possibly winding the policeman up a bit, and he pushed it too far with the wrong policeman. I have been in similar situations myself, but thankfully receded at the appropriate time in all cases. It's no excuse at all though for they way the cop reacted though.

Even if they did set the incident up, or maybe set it up so as they could film themselves skateboarding past a cop and looking really decadent and it backfired, he still should be dealt with for this.

Gatekeeper777

The cop should be fired. for conduct unbecomming an officer.
or at least be made to patrol the sidewalks on a skateboard.

Besides the fact of them running, it's against police procedure to put someone in a choke hold. Law enforcers that break the law over some kids that they know are just trying to have fun. . .the approach was terrible, and these cops deserved what they got. . .

Ha ha ha! That's a good one.

Go witness next time a police officer asked skateboarders not to skate somewhere. I was once a skateboarder, and trust me, asking us nicely never happened. Most of them don't like authority, and them leaving in a calm, mature manner, is slim to none.

I still don't find this a big deal.

How do any of us know who was at fault here? For the first few minutes we see?

None of us were there, and from my experience, when authority tells skateboarders not to skate, the words "fuck you pig" come to mind, but no, perhaps we didn't see THAT part about the kids being lippy and abusive towards the cop.

I'm saying that NONE OF US know if the cop was at fault, or the kids got what was coming. We just judge what we saw in less than 5 minutes, and I'm sorry, 5 minutes and not seeing the entire event doesn't give us the right of way to call the cops at fault.

Again, how do we know that they only yelled at him? Were you there? No, you weren't, so you nor me is right as none of us know what happened.

None of us were there and I find it funny that people are quick to make a judgement over a 4 minute video.

We could go back and forth with this and no end, plus I only care so much.

I enjoy seeing lippy kids get what they deserve. It gives me pleasure.

I think we can all agree on that both sides were at fault.

The kids got lippy, then resisted arrest, they were at fault.

The cop lost his cool and was a tad harsh.

But were either right? No, they were both wrong.

Perhaps this officer should find a new line of work as it's obvious words and not so serious situations are causing him stress.

But imagine being in that line of work and having to take that from people you are helping. A human being, no matter how strong, can only take so much.

It doesn't matter that the kids were being snotty...Being a police officer, that idiot should know that he has the power to create order, not abuse that power just because he has it. His personal qualms has nothing to do with the law--and he had no right to touch those kids in the way that he did. It was also pretty stupid of him to list so many false convictions, because he was being filmed. Idiot. I hope he got fired.

your right i wasnt there. there is NO excuse for the cops behaivor. he is a lawman he should keep his cool, especially with even lippy kids. arrest them ok i will give you that. but choke one? toss em down ?
that my friend is unjustified, they are skateboarding kids, not uzi toting thugs.
who is the adult there?that man used excessive force.
and should be terminated. I see less force used on child molestors on the tv show cops!
maybe if the pedophiles rode skate boards they would be mistreated like they should be.
But as aparent of a teen, i can imagine that child as mine, i think i would cap the cop in the head with a skateboard untill his pea sized brain oooozed out his ears!

The police aren't human beings, they are policemen and have a duty to act measurably in these situations. If he can't handle a bunch of teenagers on skateboards, then he is not fit for the job.

honestly it ' matter what the kids were acting like the police have a code of conduct and they have to follow it, they represent the city mayor, governor. I doubt that cop still has his job after this. The kids should of handle this differently agreed.. but the cop is an adult and hes a big man, trained to hurt people to a certain extent. The choke hold went way above his authority, these were kids, and they had no weapons, and never raised their skateboards as if they were going to use them.. all well shit happens..

i saw this youtube video on CNN news earlier today, CNN was attacking the video because it doesn't give the full story, it doesn't show you the part where one of the kids jumps on the back of an officer and starts beating him, CNN was interviewing witnesses and people who were angry with the youtube video

the cop still might be in deep shit for how he acted, i'm not disputing that, but i'm just saying that this video shows what really happened kinda unfairly

The cop needed better judgement. He was being a prick to. The kids were acting appropriate to me. Yea this isn't a skateboarding forum but it's ridiculous how skateboarding is treated as a crime here, almost equal to weed around here(which isn't saying much but still).

FOUND THIS TODAY.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (July 3) - A police officer who appeared to choke a skateboarder in a video posted online has been cleared of any wrongdoing by an internal review board.

The Hot Springs Police Department Internal Affairs Board found the use of force was within the police department's policy on non-deadly force and recommended "no changes to this policy." The decision was released Monday.

Officer Joey Williams stopped a group of skateboarders June 21 on a downtown city sidewalk. Skateboarding is banned in the area.

The video shows Williams apparently choking one of the skateboarders after forcing him to the ground, then later chasing and wrestling two others while holding them in a headlock.

"This was a minimal force issue," Police Chief Bobby Southard told The Sentinel-Record. "He didn't resort to anything above hand control techniques and handcuffing."

Southard said Williams, who had been put on administrative leave, will return to bike patrol downtown Thursday. Six skateboarders - two adults and four juveniles - have court dates pending.

Back to bike patrol. :wtf:

Bummer, but it doesnt amaze me that he got let off. They do by law have the right to restrain you if you do not cooperate with them. Not that i am siding with that douchebag cop. But yeah both parties acted wrongly but the they were just kids and the cops a trained adult that should be able to control his anger and such. I mean seriously...I AM SO MAD! that pig was probably just having a bad day and when he wanted to exercize his power and make himself feel like a big man he thought some young skaters would be an easy target, and when they ignored him he figured he better not show weakness and went all abusive
