if anyone cares i would like to have an argument.
If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams--and he give thee a sign or a wonder, 3 and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke unto thee--saying: 'Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them'; 4 thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God putteth you to proof, to know whether ye do love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 5 After the LORD your God shall ye walk, and Him shall ye fear, and His commandments shall ye keep, and unto His voice shall ye hearken, and Him shall ye serve, and unto Him shall ye cleave.1

Jesus never told people to worship any other gods, he actually never told people to worship him either but for some reason a lot of Christians do that. I still don't understand if Jesus is God but in human form or if they are separate entities, the Bible makes it sound like the latter but then some Christians say/write "Jesus is God!" I probably should ask this somewhat basic question from someone at my church, but I have a feeling its one of those things that will get a somewhat different answer depending on who you ask.

I don't know one thing about theology. What i'm saying is in the old testament it says nothing about a trinity so when jesus came along he told them to follow a god that they have not known because they have not known the god whcich jesus talked about. It's not about them not knowing a god. It' about them knowing a god. A god which moses told them bout a god. so they have know god to be what the old testament says nothing more or less. so jesus came along and told them about a god that they have not known; another god. which the bible says not to do "Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them'. because it being a trinity is something new which they have not known making it a false god. does this make sense to you guys?

i didn't mean to be anti semetic. find me a hebrew old testament since it may be just translation. and why do catholics, protestants, and whoever reaper got the qoute from have different translations? Jew fo Jesus also gives a bunch of rediculous arguments that is just simple ridiculous.

The LORD your God is ONE. Jesus is the God of the old testament. That's why he was killed. The jews knew it would be God himself that would come and save them, but they denied Jesus. They accused him of blashpeme for claiming he was God.
They missed him. They are still waiting for their Saviour till this day.
I think the easiest way to understand the trinity is to look at yourself. Our makeup is body, soul and spirit. These 3 make us ONE person. We are not 3 people, we are ONE. The same with God. Jesus is the Father/Son/Holy Spirit. Jesus is LORD.

so god has a spirit soul and body ohhhhhhhh where'd you get that from. he says one when someone says one you think one. Jesus comes and says something the jews didn't know that god is a trinity whre in theel do you get one oh body, soul, and spirit. it says nowhere that god will come down and save us.

well it says a god that you have not known and trinity is not something we knew.
p.s. reaper do you think i was being anti-semetic?

i am a jew and even i think jews for jesus gets it all wrong...lol......just the name itself is a contradiction in the plainest of terms...
and to whoever that was up there (i am sorry, i dont remember the name..)....i dont feel like we "missed" jesus...our messiah has not yet come, and it is pretty specific as to what is necessary for this to be revealed...
you say jesus is lord..we say one is Hashem, from the old testament...hebrew for one God, or God is one...no matter how you turn it, imo the whole premise of the holy trinity doesnt work, cant work, with the old testament....

"Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?"
The writings of Moses are from the mouth of Jesus. Jesus is Hashem. :hippy:

jesus is not my Hashem....for sure......to us, he was just a teacher...nothing more...you are well read on the bible but if you really want to get it, read the torah, where our holy words are....you believe in jesus and a God that is supposed to love you unconditionally, no matter what, but yet you have hell, and purgatory, and are made to fear someone that is supposed to be your heavenly father....if believing in something pure where i dont have to be scared of the person who created me, or that if i make a mistake i will be judged or sent to pits of the abyss, i choose "missing" jesus....i think it is cool for all the people who believe all that, to believe all that...it isnt appealing to me...jesus is jesus...God is Hashem...how can jesus be God? it doesnt even make sense to me....
