View Full Version : Does weed reduce sperm count?
I'm not too sure if this is a rumor or if it is actually true? Does it have a huge impact on mens sperm counts?

not enough, my poor friend believed it at 17
his girlie got pregnant, then dumped him AND gave birth
IF, and that's IF it's true, it's such a small differnce it just wouldnt matter [unless you've already got a low count and are trying for kids]
But, WHATEVER you hear from anything even remotely related to any form of Government will be utter shit, and you can disregard it at once.

The claim is based on a simple fact which relates to any type of smoking; that is, smoking itself is detrimental to sperm count and libido. Probably not much since all the smokers and rasta's and the such are still having plenty of children. But since you smoke weed, and smoking is the detriment not the weed itself, they just tell us "weed lowers your sperm count". The bias is just rediculous.
Okay thanks, yeah I figured it was propaganda. I've also heard that it stunts your'e growth, halts puberty, and other silly things

Yeah I wish weed lowered sperm count. My g-friend was on birth control when she conceived our first kid, and I had been a regular toker for years. Once we decided to have a second kid, she stopped taking a stronger birth control and within a week we conceived our second.

I will be one to testify that when I was 16 years old, I tried getting my ex-girlfriend pregnant.
I was smoking weed on a consistent basis and had been for about 2 years straight, at the time. We kept trying and trying to have a baby. I was young and didn't know any better. Heck, I rmemebr there were times when she would lay down upsiode down with her legs up against the wall attempting to make the semen get way in there, and she still couldn't get pregnant. I began to become somewhat concerned about the fact that I couldn't get her pregnant.
Well, sure enough, call it destiny or call it what you want, but I think about it now and I'm glad she didn't get pregnant. I broke up with her after going 3 years with her. I stopped smoking weed about a year later after we broke up and I got together with my wife. Soon, thereafter, my wife had my 3 beatiful kids. Today we are happily together.
I can almost assure that the weed had something to do with it, but i definetly wouldn't bet on it. Now, I am smoking weed once again, but I would never take the chance that weed had something to do with it.

First off- Some studies suggest that cannabis use may make your sperm hyperactive. (No, I'm not kidding.) But, I never noticed a shortage of hippie babies! Sperm from marijuana smokers move too fast too early, impairing fertility, UB research shows: The Hempire - [cannabis, hemp] (http://www.thehempire.com/index.php/cannabis/news/1764)
Second - If your testosterone levels are normal, things are OK as a rule. Cannabis does not affect hormone levels (which means you won't grow manboobs, either!). University of Iowa Anesthesia Publications (http://www.anesth.uiowa.edu/readabstract.asp?PMID=1935564)
Third, if you are a tobacco smoker, cannabinoids may INCREASE your fertility if you are male! Sensi > Cannabis Forum: Synthetic Cannabinoid May Aid Fertility In Smokers (http://forum.sensiseeds.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2243)
