:weedpoke::smokebong:
hey all im new here and im goin to build a 3 room cab. I used to grow with a buddy about 2 yrs ago so its been a while. ive never seen a cab setups till recently, and they look AWESOME!
the cab i want to build is about 5'l x 4'w x 8'h
flower 5'l x 4'w x 5'h t5 ho 4' 8 bulb(40,000lum)
veg 3'l x 4'w x 3'h t5 ho 2' 8 bulb
clone 2'l x 4'w x 3'h 1 125w clf
each section will have its own door and air tight and light proof
for veg and clone ill use 120mm fans coming in from the bottom for fresh air, one for each chamber. 1 120mm fan in veg blowing on the babies
2 120mm fans going from the bottom chambers to the top flower chamber
2 120mm fans on each side blowing fresh air in on the ladies.
havnt figured out how i want the exhaust yet, BUT WITH A HOMEADE SCRUBBER. ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE APRECIATED.
A FEW XTRA THINGS THAT I CANT THINK OF :stoned:
I HAVE A BUNCH OF SEEDS
BOG MEDELY COLLECTION
SERIOUS SEEDS KALI MIST
SWEET CINDY 99
SOME FREEBYS FROM GETTIN SEEDS SKUNK #1 AND SOUTH AFRICAN DURBON POISON X SKUNK
AND SOME EXOTIC BAGSEED, BLUEBERRY, SUNKIST, WHITE WIDOW, SHORELINE(LOCAL AND SOME OF THE BEST) AND A FEW OTHERS
i dont know if i should start with the freebys or some of the unnamed bagseed

THANX FOR LISTENIN AND SOME INPUT WOULD BE APRECIATED
DIAGRAM WILL COME SOON :smokebong:

i just got back from my home (been measuring the closet size) and i wont beable to use the fluoros. the size of the new cab is 3'l x 1 3/4'w x 8 'h and that sux because i thought i could fit a bigger cab. since its smaller im goin to use a 400hps aircooled

texas grass

how about this design
am i goin the right way
im so exited to get started again
i just got BOG'S book in (bought because it was BOG) and it was good
was thinkin bout using bag seed but will not
heres the diagram

i was thinking about using a rubbermaid tub for a diy bud dryer, but in order to use those you have to cut the buds and not let them hang. well how bout this design for a hanging diy stealth bud dryer

can you use high power pc fans with a small scrubber?
or get a little $30 inline fan from the depot

texas grass
07-27-2007, 06:13 AM
here are some better pics
is the storage a good idea, i figure that space is being wasted.
which light would you prefer for veg

DIY is the best
what do yall think about my equip i am picking out

one added thing i think for my bud dryer is you can put your baby in there for the 24-72 hr dark period before chopping to increase thc. chop then hang in the same area and it wont affect the flower chamber and it would take care of the smell while in dark period

instead if iguana mix from advanced im goin to try their mother earth tea ferts
what would be the best soil mix ferts dosage to use when using liquid ferts too

thanks rippin the bong

you dont necassarly need to section off your cloning area from your veg as its probably going to be on the same light cycle anyway and may give you some more options on lighting.
you should try to use atleast 50 watts per sq ft of hps lighting for your flower room once you determine the size of the flower room.

texas grass

the flower room is 50 wpsf

I disagree with this. The environment in the cloning section should be less light and more humidity. Same light hours as veg but less light intensity.

so you don't just use the little plastic greenhouse things like everyone else???? i just put mine in one of those and off to the less lighted corner, made especially with clones in mind

I use the plastic greenhouse thing. But then I put it in a special clone box, which is warmer and more humid and has less intense light than the other grow areas.

yes every intake will have a diy light proof pc fan intakes w/ 120mm 90cfm fans
clone chamber under 24 hr light
vegg chamber under 18/6 hr light
is that right, or can clones go good under 18/6 hr light?

texas grass
07-28-2007, 12:05 AM
i think it would be better to have seperate clone chamber because what pharmacan said about the humidity and lighting, but thank you for input

it would be less work to have just 1 vegg chamber

bejay
07-28-2007, 04:05 AM
dont really see the need for it a humidity dome raises your humidity and a heat mat placed under the propagation tray provides a warmer environment and may increase his clone success rate but isnt necassarly needed, and seeing how hes using flourecent lighting in the veg area any way, its not to intense for cloning and you could even use a small hid if its far enough away.

texas grass
07-28-2007, 05:53 AM
i dont want to use another small hid in veg because of temps/dont want to use another exhaust fan.

i want to accomplish atleast 18-20/000 lumens in veg chamber

whats best light for clone 18/6 or 24/0

thanks for the advise

PharmaCan
07-28-2007, 06:12 AM
I use 18/6 while others, who are also very successful at cloning, use 24/0. Both seem to work quite well. Pick one and see how it works for you.

PC

bejay
07-28-2007, 06:24 AM
you can use 18/6 or 24 it really just comes down to which ever you preffer, im not really going to go into the pros and cons of each one but will say both light cycles are widely used in cloning and veg with no problems.
you could try each one and make your own decision or you could just pick one.

texas grass
07-28-2007, 02:53 PM
i think ill try both light cycles in clone chamber to see which one ill do better with
the vegg chamber is goin to stay 18/6 to use less power, even though the amount i am goin to use in the vegg chamber wont amount to that much

There's a very interesting discussion going on here: http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/125305-vegging.html

about 24hr vs 18hr for the clones. It's making me think about going 24 hrs with my clones.

do yall think i should use 90cfm intake fans or keep it a passive intake
one reason i think it would be good for intake fans is to act like wind instead of using a regular fan in the box

Texas - when I tried hooking multiple air stones to a single pump/line, it didn't work. You should test your system right away - you may need to exchange that pump for a multiple outlet one.

I'm using that same fan. It's ok but it doesn't blow near hard enough so I'm using a 12" oscillating fan along with it.

Mine is 8" x 6" and about 24" long. But I bet you could get by with one-half that length (12") cuz 24" is a pretty big filter.

You are welcome!

Somewhere along the line, on the filter, you are going to get to the point of diminishing returns as the increasing thickness of filter restricts air flow. In that respect, longer would probably be better than thicker.

And, anyway, the fucking filter only costs about $25 - $30 so save your pennies and six months from now build a second filter and when the first one goes bad, replace with the second and then you only need to refill the used filter and hell, with a minimum of effort you can be in filter heaven for the forseeable future.

i am goin to build 3 or 4 of them 1 or 2 spare, one for my seperate bud dryin room and one for the flower room. ive already got the material for 2 of them except the ac.all the local stores were out of it.
good thing i still have some time before i start my project completely, i want to get everything gathered and made so when my home is done all i have to do is build the closet and start germinating.

does anyone know how to prevent pollen coming through a a vent through a vent(i want to expell the air from the clone and veg room to the flower room through the floor)

i got my carbon filter most the way done, need to clamp and fill with carbon

i bought my drying cab from the depot(23"w 15"d 34"h). i need to seal it. im goin to use the dry cab as a veg cab til i get my house and other cab built(hopefully in little more than a month)

i decided to go with floros for veg(around 20000 lumens) and clone(round 6000 lumens) but stay with the digi 600hps for flower(goin to buy that nextweek)

i got my light fixture at the depot for 10 bucks apiece(fixture is for a fan) and the wireable xtention cord for 6 bucks

Just a thought, when building anything be sure you can get it through the door of the room you are putting it in.I builded a sewing cabinet for a lady and didnt measure the door opening. So I had to go back and cut the thing in half to get it though the door.I think you will do just fine with your build.PEACE

im goin to get eBay Store - growrite: Grow Bulbs, Compact Fluorescent Grow Kits, Complete Grow Light Kits (http://stores.ebay.com/growrite)

You're going to be playing with your ventilation for a while. Check out the fans at WalMart. They have a 4" - 6" (I don't remember the exact size and I can either go measure one of my fans or spark this bowl of White Widow - guess which I'm gonna choose. :D) Anyway, they're small fans with a chrome wire cage and a support that makes them easy to hang on the walls of your box and they cost around $6 - $8 and they are great for grow boxes.

You're going to need a lot more ventilation when you turn on the hps; and you will probably wish you had a cooled hood sooner or later. You got the same kind of ballast I'm using. How many watts is it?

600watt with cooltube on the polished ss batwing reflector

im goin to convert my old 1000watt mh hood with 6cfls(easier than making one,and for veg)

and this is goin to be my dry cab. using to start babies til house is done(thisweekend:jointsmile:). then i construct the big cabinet

for ventilation goin to use 6" 360cfm with scrubber and maybe a booster on end of cooltube. dark louvers(atleast 12"x12")

if i was you i would spark the widow

so the soil is 1cf scotts premium organic blend w/ peat moss, 1 8L bag perlite, 2/3 cup each of bone and blood meal.(will transplant in few days)

been feeding with 1/4 strength nutes(bout to kick it up to full stregnth), yesterday i put 1 good pinch on topsoil of all babies to give alittle nitrogen, and put alittle xtra on the shoreline tonight (seems to be sucking more nitrogen out).

cant seem to get humidity up to mid to upper 30s wants to stay around 31% even with 2 cups of water in the cab, but doesnt seem to hurt and if it stays here all the time definatly shouldnt have to worry about mold

i should be in my new house tomarrow so if all is lookin good on the plants and im settled in good enough im goin to clone some babies and get my cab put together(since i have the wood cut:D)

Lookin good!
If I were you, I'd toss a little CFL-stylee side lighting in your mother cabinet just for ha-has, not that they look unhappy, but to get better light to low branches.
Nice plants, nice build, nice thread!

i got some more work done on my flower chamber. all i lack now is my cooltube setup, and air intake

i thought i was goin to loose afew clones cause at first i didnt spray with water or use a humidity dome. the 3 that were goin to die have revived themselves:D.

here is a pic of my nutes and stuff i use. i just bought some of GH's floranector which is supposed to be the same as sweet. the reason i went with floranector is because they had the same ingredients but GH also has 17.5% cane sugar, 7.5% malt extract, and 5% molasses, yum yum tasty ass shit yum yum:D:smokin:

the 1 bog is looking great

everything in veg is looking good and green and getting tall fast

in flower things are greenin up abit, i didnt foliar feed like i was supposed too. i guess i can get to stoned and forget lol. but i did give a topdressing of mexican high nitrogen guano and it seems to be helping alot.

i just bought a $75 6" hole saw to cut 1 hole between my closet and bathroom to run my exhaust from my flower chamber. when exhausted in my room it seems to have raised temps in my living quarters by almost 8-10deg. last night sleeping was much better and tempature right off the corner of the light was 78deg:D.

sounds like its time to go hit the bong:D:smokin:

heres another damn update, its been a while

the 3 older plants have been in flower for 7 weeks today, they seem to have another week or 2 til they finish, most the trich are cloudy and afew have just started to turn amber color

they are startin to look great, the second batch will be alot better fact that they havent been stressed near as much

the ones in the back left have 2 weeks longer than those

and i have some on the right side that i just put in 2 weeks ago

and im goin to put 6 more in tonight if i dont get too stoned, lol

enjoy
