Yeah, I just saw this...weird...seems like they were murdered?

I used to love WWF back when I was young...even though I don't watch it now, I still have respect for most of them...because they are acting along with performing physically. Besides the scripting of the characters and the match, there's nothing really fake about it...talking in front of the crowd while remembering everything, then putting their body on the line, all while maintaining a character after training and practicing to get the match and the show right. I think it's pretty impressive how it always comes out perfect.

I use to enjoy watching the WWE. I definitely respect their profession and the risks they take everyday, but in the roles they played I have varying levels of respect for each character.

WWE wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and son were found dead Monday and police said they were investigating the deaths as a homicide.

Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department said the three were found at their home about 2:30 p.m., but refused to release details.

Pope said results of autopsies on Benoit, his wife Nancy, and 7-year-old son Daniel were expected Tuesday.

Benoit, 40, was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career.

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the federation said in a statement on its Web site.

Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons."

Benoit, a Canadian native, maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

If anyone didn't know, Benoit's wife Nancy was actually a popular female manager back in WCW days. She was known as "Woman".

And I stopped watching wrestling when the Rock left to go Hollywood.

Yup, that's when it all came crashing down, at least for me...WWF started to became WWE and all that bullshit. Actually last summer, me and a few friend's found some old WWF tapes I had, watched them with some beers...it was great. Also DLed some Rock quotes off Limewire...so fucking funny...he was definitely one of the best, if not the best, character ever.

And THC, I know what you mean about the characters. My all-time favorite would have to be Bret 'The Hitman' Hart...

I'm not a big fan of wwe as I was in the past when Stone cold, HHH, generation X, The Rock, The undertaker, Kane to name a few... That I liked watching...

But to hear this news about Chris Benoit I don't know what to say...
I jest wounder who could do such a horrible thing...

R.I.P Chris....

It's not a sport it's sports entertainment. They aren't trying to hurt each other they're trying to make it look like they are hurting each other. Occasionally they do get hurt but that's not the goal.

WWE was so much better during The Rock/ Stone Cold days. Spraying the owner down with beer is classic. Who doesn't want to spray down their boss with beer or hit them with a bedpan? A lot of the new wrestlers lack charisma.

The chics are hotter now though.

I will not be surprised if this is a murder/suicide.

Damn, that's too bad. I don't watch wrestling anymore, but I used to be big into it as a kid, watched all the way up to about Jr. High (wich i think was about when the rock started leaving to go hollywood... Benoit was always one of my favorites to watch, he never had any real flashy moves except "the crippler", he was just a tough motherfucker, took tons of beatings and always came out on top.

I remember watching raw every monday, used to love routing for benoit, the undertaker, stone cold, the rock, and mankind... lol anyone remember "The Rock n' Sock Connection"? they were the best. LOL

DAMN man, now it looks like he's killed his wife and kid, then himself?? WOW.

To be honest, he always looked crazy...actor or not haha I dunno..there was just always something unsettling about him..like he might hit his wife or something. Haha that, or he's just a good actor.

idk how many of you are wrestling fans...I know most of us watched wrestling on tv wen we were kids...but i just found it shocking to find out that chris benoit died. He strangled his wife and 7 year old son and then killed himself...they said it was prolly some kind of steroid anger problem or something.
