Ok my girlfriends brother was growing with his friend up at his place but they ran out of room and his friend wants to do it alone now so he has asked me if i can continue his grow for him as ive done it before. So he fetched me 2 cuttings which he has been growing for a about a month and a half they look ok but they have been in 3 inch pot all there life im gonna repot them tomorrow into some 12 inch pots at least i think they are which are ideal (took them from a hydroponics system the blue ones) can some expert grower take a look and see if its worth carrying them on or should i scrap them and start afresh?

i definately wouldnt scrap them, but i dont know what the troubles would be with putting them in soil right now. do you mean they just came out of hydro? what did the roots look like when you put them in those pots? if they start fading real fast, make clones of them. they were probably female clones if growing in hydro right? they look nice to me.but im no pro either.

hi dude thanks for the reply no they have been in those pots since my mate planted them as clones theyve been in soil all there life so ive recieved them as they look in the pics. Tomorrow i was gonna put them in some big pots when i get some soil as everywhere is closed today. Also im not sure but i think the mother was a soil grown and these clones where took from her right before the other guy switched to 12/12.

just another quick question since they are 1 1/2 months old do you think i should switch to 12/12 tomorrow by looking at the plants i reckon they are kinda small with not many bud sites ive got a metal hallide 400w and a 400w hps but only one ballast so should i use the metal halide for a couple weeks then switch to hps or should i just throw in the hps tomorrow?

thanks clubber lang

it depends on how big you want them to get. they will double or maybe triple in height, sooo??? i would put them directly under the hps. i vegged with my 150hps and have about 2 wks left in flowering. they did ok for my first indoor attempt.

double or triple in height wouldnt be a problem at the minute as they are only about 14 inches high each of them and about 6 inch across. When i did my last grows i did 4 plants and they got to about 5 or 6ft my last plant i grew i did 1 on its own and man it was a whopper i had to bend it right over at the top so it fit underneath the hps ill post a pic of it pic1 is of the plant i had to bend over pic 2 and 3 are of one of my grows in early flower pic4 is of the closet i grew in at my old house

nice, im running into the same problem now having to do alot of bending and tying. they will make it im sure. tied down and all around they are only a little over a foot tall, but when i rearanged them for height and lighting reasons i took all of the ties off and did it better so the would fit. they are about 3 ft tall.
