Ok, so Im not a newbie. Ive got some successfull indoor harvests under my belt. But what I want to know is about growing outdoor in a tropical climate. There is plenty of great places down here, lots of rain, fairly high up in the central valley, so the temp stays between70-85 degrees, maybe down to about 55 on the coldest of nights. and there is no daylights savings. It gets dark between 5:30 and 6:00pm all year, so its perpetually 12/12.

Would that mean I could just veg my plants as big as I can and throw them outside to flower right away? In any case I know they grow a lot over towards the caribbean coast and down towards panama. So any experienced outdoor growers can give me some advice??

thanks a bunch.

im not a pro, but you could veg your indicas indoor then set them out, or start sativas outdoors from seed or small plants. i just read something about indica growing in jamacia, they were starting them from seed outdoors so they went straight into flowering and were only like 6" to a foot tall when they were done.

cool, that makes sense. I dont have any pure sativa strain so I well just veg up to a couple feet then throw em out there in the jungle.

Know if any particular strains do well with humidity?

i dont really, ive had the same strain for a few yrs. and hopefully this yr i can expand to some other types. ($$$) try the seeds and strains board, and i think they even have a board for which area you are from. it would probably be best to call the place you will order from and talk to somebody about what you are looking for. dense heavy buds would probably have a problem with mold in your area.

7 yr oudoor vet here. Theoredically yes....you may veg them as long as you want indoors if your hours are always perpetually 12/12, and as long as there mature they should flower fairly soon when you put them out, just minimalize stress, and try not to stress em,hope this helped...

p.s sativas would grow extraordinarily well and big in a sub tropical or tropic climate like that...go for it!

you may veg them as long as you want indoors if your hours are always perpetually 12/12, and as long as there mature they should flower fairly soon when you put them out,Incorrect. 12/12 light schedule will make cannabis plants switch to flowering mode and is not appropriate for vegging. For that, you want at least 18 hours per day of light.
