I really need all of ur thoughts and prayers right now. I should say my sister and her new baby do. He was bornin earlier today but hes not due until the first of march. Hes very small and shes not doin to well either. She had gestational Diabetes and with that the babies lungs develope at a slower rate then normal. He is on all kinds of machines. They said that there is a 50/50 chance for him. I dont accept that i belive there is a 100% chance atleast thats what im praying for. I know that the more people pray the better so for all u belivers please take a min and say a small prayer for my lil nephew and my sister. thank u all very much.

I am so glad that things seem to be rallying for both your sis and the baby. I have a grandchild that was born premature and only weighed 2lbs at birth. Probably because my daughter was only 14 at the time is what the dr's say. After staying in the neonatal intensive care for a month, we took her home weighing just under 5lbs. She had to have a heart moniter on her 24/7 for over 6 months, and now 3 1/2 yrs later she's a ball o' fire :) So I know from personal experience that miracles do happen. Is the baby on a respirator?, if so, when the dr's are able to remove it will be an important turning point for the baby. I learned so much during that time of the fragility, and yet the strength of these little bundles of joy. We couldn't handle the baby too much because the dr's said that their systems needed 'restful' time to help finish their development. Too much stimuli would be too much for the baby to handle. We had to feed her with the smallest tube, but each gain was a milestone. Give your sister the emotional support she's needing so badly at this time, as I'm sure you are doing, and I will keep you and her in my thoughts and prayers.

hi annie,
yes the baby is on a respirator, but hes doin ok now. Its sill touch and go as im sure u know the first 48 hours the the worse if he gets thru that chances get better. We just try to do our best to help him feel loved. they say that touch is sumthing that will help. I just got back from there ive been there on and off all day. Im goin back first thing in the morning. and im stayin there til my sis gets out she has to stay til monday. Ill keep u posted :)

Ammie, something in my heart tells me he'll be OK, I went through the same thing with my son. The first 24 hours is most important...if he made it through the night, his chances have improved greatly. Tell your sis to take it day by day...it will be touch and go for a while. How big is he? My son was 1 lb. 8 1/2 oz, but they lose weight and he went down to 1 lb 2 oz....8 years later he's fine. Tell her that and maybe she'll feel a little better, I hope. My thoughts are with her and your family. Keep us posted! I'm getting my digi this weekend, I'll post pics of him then and now. Show them to her and she will have renewed hope, I know it!

We pray for the children who sneak Popsicles before supper,
who erase holes in math workbooks,
who can never find their shoes.

And we pray for those who stare at photographers from behind barbed wire,
who can't bound down the street in a new pair of sneakers,
who never "counted potatoes,"
who never go to the circus,
who live in an X-rated world.

We pray for children who bring us sticky kisses and fistfuls of dandelions,
who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money.

And we pray for those who never get dessert,
who have no safe blanket to drag behind them,
who watch their parents watch them die,
who can't find any bread to steal,
who don't have any rooms to clean up,
whose pictures aren't on anybody's dresser,
whose monsters are real.

We pray for children who spend all their allowance before Tuesday,
who throw tantrums in the grocery store and pick at their food,
who like ghost stories,
who shove dirty clothes under the bed,
who never rinse out the tub,
who get visits from the tooth fairy,
who don't like to be kissed in front of the carpool,
who squirm in church and scream in the phone,
whose tears we sometimes laugh at
and whose smiles can make us cry.

And we pray for those whose nightmares come in the daytime,
who will eat anything,
who have never seen a dentist,
who aren't spoiled by anybody,
who go to bed hungry
and cry themselves to sleep,
who live and move,
but have no being.

We pray for children who want to be carried
and for those who must,
who we never give up on
and for those who don't get a second chance.

For those we smother
and...
for those who will grab the hand of anybody
kind enough to offer it.

IM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THAT AMMIE MY THOUGHT AND PRAYS GO TO THE BABY AND ITS FAMILY AND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

HERES A PRAY FOR ALL THOSE WHO DONT KNOW ONE. EVERYONE TRY TO SAY THIS AT LEAST ONE TIME TODAY.

If possible, light a white candle.

Still yourself, and direct your attention to your heart.

Visualise that you are surrounded by, and filled with, pure white light.

Now visualise the child or children that you are praying for.

If you are able to, say the following prayer aloud.

Dearest, beloved Father/Mother God, Creator of all that is, I ask that You now go to (_name_), this precious child of light and love. I ask that through Your Divine Grace, You heal and bless this child and return (him/her/them) to perfect health and balance. I ask, also, that the Archangels, the Angels and the Ascended Masters of Light surround and protect this child, now, always and in all ways.

I thank you, dear Creator, and all Beings of Divine Light, for your loving assistance. I am so grateful.

So be it. And it is done.

GOD BLESS

you guys know that praying doesnt help? im sorry, and i dont mean any disrespect, but if prayers work, then everything anyone ever prayed for would come true, and everyone would be rich, good looking, own a great car, and be married to a celebrity, and none of their family would ever be harmed or die... Prayers dont work.. just be there for the person, instead of wasting energy praying

i know, bro, and i aint trying to be disrespectful.. im just saying, sometimes prayers can do more harm than good.. when my grandad was in hospital with cancer, my mum used to pray every day that he would pull through.. she honestly believed that God wouldnt ignore her, that he would answer her prayers, and my granddad would make it.. unfortunately he didnt, and my mum was devistated, but mostly she was hurt because her prayers were ignored.. the rest of us, my family, had already accepted the fact that he wasnt going to make it, so his passing wasnt as hard, but it was hard for my mum because she believed her prayers would be answered? you see what im saying? sometimes praying can give people false hopes, and it takes them longer to grieve and to mourn, or to accept the inevitable.. now im NOT saying that this is whats going to happen, but you can see my point right? anyway, you can all flame me for saying that now, whatever

Hey, I have faith, just not in God.. I guess I have faith in the innate goodness in people (though you dont see it very often), and I have faith in the perseverience of the human race.. But just not in God... Anyway, ima shut up, coz this thread isnt about what I believe in or not.. and who knows, maybe praying will help - I hope it does

Ammie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I pray that a faith and a firm belief in Jesus Christ will be made real to you, to each member of your family - and that the Holy Spirit will touch that child with His loving, healing spirit, touch the heart of that baby boys' mother today, and will make himself clearly seen to each individual reader of your request for prayers. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

I just wanted to say that the power of prayer is very real to a believer. Prayers made in unbelief are not heard. Moreover, effective prayer does not consist of requesting flower-strewn paths our whole lives through, or a release from death. Faithful, meaningful prayer is simply asking Christ to make Himself real in your heart, and He will.

Now, you and me are much alike, G/T. One does not have to prove God is real to me. I am going to be an old man soon, despite my denial in that area (lol), likewise, my beliefs are simply not going to be changed, in spite of tragedy in my life that is unspeakable ~ I have witnessed the Holy Spirit at work in my life. This happened because I said in my heart, "Jesus, if you are real, come into my life"!...That's it! Nothing else! He will!

The problem we have with God, as human beings - if we will be totally honest with ourselves - is that we don't want to give up the sins in our lives. We all come short of pleasing God with our own works, therefore, provision of salvation, Jesus Christ, is Gods' mercy, love and grace.

I will never attempt to prove God is real to any of you, because if God is God, He can work in your heart for himself, He shouldnâ??t need selfish, pathetic, futile ME to make His case, right? Give it a try, please, G/T. You will see a change. Just TRY it!

Put your faith in the doctors Ammie, not God. They're the only ones who perform miracles.

Definitely put faith in doctors. God has given us men of high intelligence that care about these matters and that is how He operates and deals with us today, down here, as believers - through other people. Maybe reading my post entitled "Please help my dog" will help you, maybe not. An attitude of unbelief will necessarily result in the negations it is comprised of made manifest in your disposition!!!!... Good Luck!

hey, i respect that man.. i'd just like to say, though, that i have 'given it a try'.. i was raised in a religious family (jehovahs witnesses), and now that ive matured some, ive read their texts, studied their beliefs, and questioned their rules, all with an open mind.. and its made me go from believing to not believing.. but hey, like i said in the 'life of a geek' thread by meek mike, as long as we respect eachothers beliefs, and get high, then it doesnt matter what we believe, coz its still all good.. i dunno, im drunk :)
