Been thinking about starting a ScrOG grow anytime now. and i was reading up on it, trying to educate myself as best i could, when i came across a post refering to different kinds of ScrOGs like "V-ScrOG", "Stadium ScrOG", and "Flat ScrOG". So i was just wondering if anybody has tried or knows anything about any of these variations. I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

flat scrog is when you use a flat mesh screen above the plants, v scrog is when you use a v shape screen and your plants grow in a v shape along the sides of your lamp and i find if you use a coolshade (lamp in a glass tube with fans to remove the warm air works best. stadium scrog is where yo grow the same as v scrog but the plants grow along the sides and across the ends. i find that stadium scrog is the best for me you can extend it as you need to by adding another coolshade and the buds all recieve the same anount of light and are all the same distance away from the light so stetching is avoided. hope that makes sense to you and helps you out.

v scrog is when you use a v shape screen and your plants grow in a v shape along the sides of your lamp

Thats not quite correct. A v-scrog is a vertical scrog, where you lamp is hung vertically and the plants grow arond it in either a tube or prismic fashion.

The point of doing a v or a stadium scrog is that at a small space you have more plant grow, just like an straight line ends first at the same lengh than a curved one,I don´t see any reason for somebody to do a flat scrog, just because a v or stadium you have a biggest harvest. You can also do any kind of variations according to your space in particular

Yeah I think you should get a plant from seed to harvest first, your first grow will give you your most experience in terms of what to look out for and what to expect, its your biggest learning curve. Scroging is an advanced technique regardless of how easy people say it is you need to learn to walk before you can run. Check out another member called 'justaseed' his thread 'lovely ladies' is an example of the scrog technique used to max effect. There are many different ways that you can scrog, even the fundamentals are open to alot of variation.

what we call 'V-scrog' around here, is a screen bent into a 'v'-shape (like a boat hull) ... that way, the plants in the center, are held a few inches further from the lamp, hopefully slowing the growth to better match up with the perimeter plants ... :smokin:

Why not just do it the simple way and build a flat screen and just let them grow under that lol. Btw my next grow is going to be ScroG for sure.

Scrog is a great way to grow. but as hilppe says it works better if you know your plant. There are numerous strains out there that work well in scrog .Power plant. white russia.aourora indica and i think nothernlights would work well with the sgrog method .You want to start trianing in veg either under the sreen or lst until you drop a screan over them .I have done white russian and aurora indica scrogs and grew both strains normaly and they defenetly produce far better in scrog imo If you start lst in early veg you can splay the plants and get them all bushed out before the screen goes over i found this helped massively.dave

I believe that's a stadium scrog everywhere else, but whatever floats yer boat - doesn't matter.

Hey let´s stop the theory and go to the real life. Hey why everybody doesn´t show their pictures of scrog???? Mine is there http://boards.cannabis.com/closet-cabinet-growing/122430-cervante-s-closet.html#post1512807
