BBC NEWS | World | Americas | CIA to reveal decades of misdeeds (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6229750.stm)

After 1969 they wanted to spread peace and love to all the brothers and sisters.

Why 1970?

Why not 1990?

Because it all started again in 1984 probably.

I'm sure they have their reasons for covering up all the bad shit until it is safe to let it out again.

I'm pretty sure things didn't get better from 1970 to the present, Do you think they just folded up shop and stopped spying on dissidents and suspected entities. Thats what they do, look for reasons to invade resource rich nations. They have to unveil the despots and make them the evil empires so we (The USA) can cause a coup d'etat or just go ahead and invade (Iraq). It's neo-Imperialism. I love my country but hate the government.
