Hey.. I am planning on growing for the first time, but I am thinking of the best spot to grow... Last April my dad past away, and he was into fishing and stuff, we have a big 8 by 4 ice hut in our back yard, i was thinking of using that, but then the lighting and fans would need to be battery opperated, i can take a nice part of the floor out, which would also make good air flow, can anybody give me some suggestions? i don't really want to use up 4-5 months of batterys

Thanks

what is your place on solar power? i cant think of a good way to use batteries at all, it doesnt seem like there would be enough juice to power a very big light.

umm try to use an extention cord and if you cant dont use watever you are...batteries of whatever kind WILL not work for that period of time they are not meeant to use for long long periods of time...they will only last about a week even with energy saving light...

im aloud to have it, just not in the house... and i'm talking about 12 volt car batterys... they work for 120 v single lights, i was thinking 1 or 2, 120 v lights per plant

12 volts will NOT run a 120 volt HID light. For one thing, battery current is DC, the lights require AC. So you need some sort of converter. One car battery isn't going to power you for very long either. You will have to keep recharging them, which would just be a pain in the ass. I hope you're not planning on using regular old incandescant light bulbs because those won't work. I think you need to do some reading and research before you jump into this

Install white opaque panels for a roof on the hut. That'll let natural light to get to the plants. Batteries can run exhaust fan.
