You will be able to see the flowers when they are about to open- they sort of flop over on their stems and open within hours of doing that.

The female can be pollinated any time, but there are a couple things to remember:
-Allow at least 3 weeks to harvest for seeds to ripen
-A very early pollination can help prevent over-seeding of your buds. If you pollinate during week 2 or 3 when there is pistil growth but not TOO much, you can then wash off the plant after a couple days and return her to the flower room. The seeds will be at the base of the buds, and easy to find.

Why would you want to pollinate! Get rid of those males and you can end up with some very potent sativa

What the heck are you talking about?
A pollinated plant does not by virtue of bearing seed a) lose potency in a noticeable way and b) change SPECIES entirely lol
I pollinate all the time!
I LIKE having my genetics backed up in seed format... you can store them for later, give them to friends, and if you move, mail them to yourself to avoid being caught driving around with a trunkload of trees.
