If you didnt know...my dad is in the beginning stages of alzeimers...Well, he wanted to go back to Ohio to see a plaque and tree that was planted in my moms honor at her workplace...
Well, we paid extra to ensure that he had a escort throughout the trip and help him make his connection in Chicago..we were going to by him a nonstop..but the price was $1400..a little too pricey..anyway, some shit happened in Dayton, which delayed the flight in Chicago...my sister went to go and pick him up last night out in Orange County and he never flew in...he never got on the plane in Chicago! Who knows where the fuck he is..probably just wandering the city...we will see if he is found..otherwise, it is off to Chicago for me.

I hope your old man's alright mate, I'm sure he'll give you a call soon. Could he have have missed his original flight and just be waiting at the airport still?

I guess they were looking all over the airport last night and they couldnt find him...
He dosent own a cell phone and probably dosent have any numbers on him...who knows? he could of got a cab and went into the city..whatever it is...I hope he is having a good time. At this point in his life, I know he is sad...his wife of over 30 years just died..he is living with my sister in the middle of the friggin desert with her whacked out son...he is also a recovering alcoholic..so maybe he started knocking back a few....only time will tell I guess. Also, his alzeimers has been kicking in pretty hard so I am sure that plays the biggest factor in all of this.

Sorry to hear that, geonagual. Best wishes in finding him. I know how you feel because, the minute my Mother was late from "Jaffra Home Interiors" shows (?), and I'd be stuck with my Father, I'd ball my head-off.
I really hope he's alright mate. I'm sure he'll turn up and it'll turn out he was just having some fun.

Just talked to my sister...we figure it has been 15 hours since anyone has seen or heard from him...she has had him paged over the overhead at o'hare...to no avail...hmmm...this is getting interesting..
I guess, next stop will be to call the Chicago police..
Does anyone know how far the airport is from downtown Chicago?

It's a long way.
If he got in a cab, he might give the driver the address where he was going in Orange County. If that address exists in Chicago, I'd start looking around there.

So sorry to hear this, Geonagual! I hope he's OK!
I'm sure y'all gave a picture of him to the police, right? And will you or they alert the media in Chicago or wherever he was last seen? That has a way of helping turn people up fairly quickly. We have Alzheimer's patients go missing here in the Dallas-Forth Worth area practically weekly, and frequently they're travelers coming through the DFW airport. When the news stations pick the story up and show a good picture of the person, they nearly always turn up pretty quickly. The last one from two weeks ago was located at a Denny's near the airport, having coffee and breakfast. They had no idea how she found her way there since the airport's huge and she didn't have a car.
Poor, sweet thing! I hope he's OK. I know you and your sister must be worried sick.

Damn. Chicago's one helluva place to be lost. I wish you and your dad luck in finding your ways back to each other. At least it's summertime and he's probably not freezing. He'll probably turn up at a gentleman's club somewhere getting a lap dance.

I'll check the weatherbug camera, to see if I see him.
I don't see him from atop Marian Catholic HS. He's not at Columbia Central. Wait. Nope, he's not at the Infant Jesus of Prague School. I don't see him at any of the high schools, junior highs, or elementary schools.

I should of finished this thread, but I didnt. Anyway, he ended up in the Chicago airport wandering around for over 20 hours...the airport police finally found him and got him on the right plane and I went to Orange County and picked him up..He told me, when he saw me at the airport, it was one of the greatest things he had ever seen..I asked him what had happened and he said there was a lot of people and that he had got confused, so he sat down, he would walk for awhile, sit down again..for 20 hours I guess..he is definitly getting worse..I am taking him fishing next week..
Thanks to everyone for their concern.

Glad to know it all turned out alright geo...my grandma had Alzheimer's really bad before she passed away a couple years ago. It really is torture seeing the person you used to know wither away into basically nothing of what they were. I honestly hope I don't get that illness because frankly, I want to remember things. ~
