is this possible and how is it done i would love to increase overall yeild and how would i tell when to harvest if i cant get a 10x to 30x microscope...i didnt quite understand the faqs thread about it...

yea i did and ok when my plants about 4 to 5 weeks i kut off the top branch with about 10% left so it grows back with several colas...???or no and any advice on what u use to cut will be nice...

simple, ya can't screw it up (in fact, the term FIM stands for "fuck, I missed"):D ... just prune the top-most growing shoot ... you can either use a knife, a razor blade, a small pair of scissors (my favorite) ... or, if you are growing one helluva plant, these work well, too: :chainsaw: :jointsmile:

wait till it has 4 to 5 sets of leaves.

allow the plant to grow 4-5 internodes, sets of branches ... you don't need to be in any hurry, it matters little, as to when it is done, as long as it is still in it's vegetation phase ... best reason for topping is to control height, I have done it both ways, many times, and I don't think the yield differs all that much ... it's "six of one, half-dozen of the other", in my opinion ... some strains do not like it, and can be stressed, supposedly, but I have personally suffered no plant damage yet, from topping ... :smokin:

yea i have two plants and im going to top 1 but do u think if i left them without topping or fimming they would be better off...

what advantages would topping and fimming give besides shorter plants...

more colas
larger canopy per plant
lower plant count if you live somewhere where the med card has a plant count restriction

give 3 weeks' recovery after topping before flowering.

ooo ok and i want to top after my current set of leaves grow bigger and then wait a couple weeks before flower...but what does it mean if the plant has more leaves like instead of 3...5s 7s and 9s...????

I agree w/ everything except yield comment.
My plants end up yielding up to 5 x as much from 1 single topping / verses untopped . I to have yet to find a strain that hasn't reponded well to it either . I gotta keep plant count down for reasons Stinky has stated below too . A lil extra recovery / veg. time but well worth it .

i just fimmed my two plants they came out ok im sure i left about 10% of the stem and well see even if i dont get more then 2 stems at least it will turn out more then 1...

haahaa memory loss...but yea thay already answered the other question and it sucks i ordered a timer for my lights and they sent me a seat cover...now i have to get up and turn them on and off everyday...:(

huh for real but i dont think it can take all the light i have on my outlet...15 100 watt cfls is alot of wattage...but mine was supposed to be 5000watt appliance timer...
