The reason Bad Brains are so good, is because they started as a Jazz band.
True story.

I vote for Plastic Bertrand! :D

Why on earth has someone said the Velvet Underground? Have you ever listened to them? Yes they are a great band, but do you really call that punk?

So was T-Rex.
They were punk before punk was fashionable.
They invented the punk image, which became the punk movement, and 'punk rock' music.

Sorry mate T-Rex was not punk, he was 'glamrock'. I suppose the look Marc Bolan and T-Rex had was a bit similar to the New York dolls but no way was he 'Punk'. Sex Pistols the original and the best

Check again. Marc Bolan called HIMSELF a punk in 1973. Long before the Sex Pistols.

Mate, they aren't a punk band. How are songs like 'Who Loves the Sun', 'New Age', 'Heroin', 'Pale Blue Eyes' etc. punk songs? Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever herd.

If in "punk" you mean the original concept, it would come down to:

-The Clash
-The Sex Pistols
-Ramones
