I am maybe looking to invest in 2 x 600w aircooled lights, i've been offered a pair of digital amp lights (they looked kind of like old projectors) but I am unsure whether they would be any better than a pair of new lights?

Also has anyone used a manual release co2 controller before? I dont mind spending to get a controller and bottle but dont want to have to get a precision timer as well, is it easy to do it manually?

Digital ballasts are really nice, and are better in every way except price from magnetic ballasts. They're about 10% brighter, they prolong bulb life, they use less electricity, they don't run as hot, they're virtually silent, and they can use both MH and HPS bulbs without any drawbacks. Assuming that's what you're able to get, I'd get it, as long as the price isn't prohibitive.

I've been quoted £400 for both 600w digi's (used) and a new air cooled reflector with glass....

Thanks for the help ;)
