Anyway's after 40 minutes of explaining my chosen route of travel to Colorado five times. He wants to search the vehicle, which i told him no problem. Sharpstoner, I completely agree. They serve a necessary function in society and the fact of the matter is, if marijuana was legal, there would be no small-time marijuana laws to enforce. Cops are dicks, and we all know that going in; but I ultimately think both sides misunderstand each other's intentions and persona's.
As Lumpkins experienced, cops are looking to catch people breaking the law... which we all are (unjustifiably so, but still knowingly). It is really sad that all too often the police resort to tactics that are less-than-honest to achieve that measure, it is doubly sad that our country supports this kind of law-enforcement at every level.

The way I see it is, a cop doesn't go up to random people to harrass them. Maybe you should think why the cops know you so well, because you must have done something in the past for them to watch you so close.

I know a cop. A vice detective, really. He is related to me by marriage.

I know another cop, a head of state vice.

Both have made it clear - they don't care about weed so much. But if they see it, or know about it, they have to do something about it. It's their job.

The long and short of the story is like many others have said before - don't give them a reason to fuck with you and they won't. It is a job, like any other. It's easy to say "fuck the police" but the truth of the matter is that they provide a vital function in society. Don't be a dumb ass - respect their authority, be legit (other than smoking bud) and they are cool. BUT - if you show attitude, flaunt it in their faces, then you get what's coming to you.

I will say that some are dicks who probably got beaten in high school and are now looking for payback. Suck it up and take it. Jail sucks, being in the system sucks. Don't risk it. They will make your life hell and get those otherwise cool cops after your ass as well. It is a brotherhood. They will shake you down for the hell of it - because you show disrespect to their job. Like it or not, the average cop sees things black or white when it comes to the law.

some people around here just dont get it, all the cops are trying to do is uphold the law (most cops anyway) and weed IS illegal, even though it shouldnt be:mad: so as long as you dont give the cops a reason to fuck with you and you keep the weed smoking to yourself you should be alright. i have been smoking for 5 years and have not once been arrested, pulled over, or anything of that sort. its easy to point the finger but hard to take the blame.
