HELL YES!!
over the past month, i've heard this specific pink floyd song on the radio twice, and i REALLY liked it. So i decided to just download a ton of pink floyd songs and see if i could recognize it out of those songs. It worked.
Song:
Pink Floyd - learning to fly
awsome song.

It's one of his good ones but Dark Side Of The Moon and Comfortably Numb are better imo.

learning to fly is good but you should see the video from www.pinkfloyd.com that video is awesome. im pretty sure that song is on momentary lapse of reason album. if u like floyd dont just listen to their commercial radio stuff you have to listen to all of their stuff. every album is flawless in my opinion. check out division bell, obscured by clouds, more, pipers at the gates of dawn and animals, just to name a few amazing albums. floyd is my favorite band and i know alot about them so if you have any questions then post em and il do my best to answer. also if you've never watched the movie "the wall" then definately check it out.

I stay away from anything Pink floyd past the Wall. Just not the good stuff. I have to say the album Wish You Were Here is probably the finest Pink floyd album. I recently got Obscured by Clouds, which is a bit too rocky to be the best Pink Floyd. Any Floyd in the 60s and 70s is great, though they are a band that has music taht is much better than some of their music. Welcom to the Machine is by far (for me at least) the coolest Floyd song I have ever heard.
I rented Pulse and was very upset with what I got. I don't want to see Nick Mason running around like some crazy 80s drummer during Learning to Fly. I want to see a fucking dazed as hell band playing "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" whhich is a great ass fucking song man.

i dont really care about their "commercial radio songs" as long as it sounds good to my ears, ill listen to it. I appreciate any music, no matter what the motivation was. I'm a rather new pink floyd fan, began listenin to them acouple months ago, i have dark side of the moon, and the wall. But i really like the song learning to fly. Just feels good to listen to. It's one of those songs, that you can listen to over and over again. It makes you feel good about stuff. And it gets your mind goin.
peace,

Man, I couldn't agree more. Even The Wall is iffy for me... Everything before that is art at the highest level. Careful With That Axe Eugene, Echoes, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Dogs, Sheep, all those long and slow songs are so fucking awesome. Then there's the shorter ones, Astronomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, Time, Money, Us and Them, Wish you were Here, Have a Cigar... Man, this is the best band of all time, tied with The Beatles :D

yeah the Wall definitely seems like it loses the psychadelic edge a lot. There longer songs are definitely so damn awesome, along with their short ones, but the long ones are just so rewarding. some people aren't into the longer songs, but if ur into it it is like 100x better. The developement and suspense is just so great in Sheep. It's funny listening to a live sheep version then listening to the recording, cause the live version is not too slow, but the recording next to the live is at super slow-mo.
U should try the band King Crimson. If u haven't given em a try u should def get "In the Court of the Krimson King." A little jazzier than floyd, but in that really nice long songed proggressive category.

no way, I just red a book by Stephen King, that had a character in it called the Krimson King.. he keeps appearing in different Stephen King books, and in a way, hes kinda like the equivelant of the devil.. ANYWAY, one of the chapters was called "In the Court of the Krimson King".. wierd

lol probably
The Krimson King is in the books Insomnia, and the Dark Tower Series, by the way.. He's kinda like the devil, that lives on the top floor of the Dark Tower, which is one end of the axis that holds all the universes together.. Hmm, I think youre right about him tripping too much, lol, but the Dark Tower books are fucking awesome.. Like Lord of The Rings, with less gay Elves and more shooting people lol

Echoes.... (minus the lengthy whale music in the middle :D)
It'll make you trip without smoking, and if you're already stoned, sit back, close your eyes, and be transported to another world ....Where everything is green and submarine

there's simply no trance like the trance u induce urself into.
I love playing my bass through a very strange sounding electronicly synthesized sound patch on a distortion box. very nice after a bowl or two of some strong weed. U can feel the groove very well. Anyone else here like to play trances?
