Haha they're awesome aren't they :rasta:

Anyways i'm setting up my itunes library again and i'm just figuring how I should organise it.. the last 2 years i've always used playlists only.. and used the artist name as the playlist title.. to save clicking through all the album shit.. and also so you can mix playlists with assorted tracks in right there with the artists... but i'm thinkin maybe I should change it..

Just wondering how other people use itunes.. and how do you organise your music on there?

Peace :smokin:

I use the library and have about 20 different playlists which do take time to build up.

I just have a big list of my music 7459 songs...

How many songs do you have?

I don't use the playlists unless I want to set up a custom mix. Otherwise you just need to make sure the artist and song name are in there, and it all takes care of itself; you just go through "music", then "artists".

Personally though I'm never buying an ipod again. Much as I love my Ipod mini, I've had it replaced 3 times under warranty and every replacement had the same problem; battery keeps randomly cutting out (fully charged or not) then you can turn it back on, wait 30 seconds, and it's suddenly full again. It turns off if I run or even walk to hard with it, and now the volume has gone incredibly low for any music I take from a CD rather than a download, in which case I have to turn it all the way to the top just to get decent sound.

Honestly, what's the point of a warranty if you just replace one broken item with another? There should just be a guaranteed return option, full money back, if the replacement can't even hold up.

uh.. i think like 1100 atm.. but more artists than youd expect

yeah i think id just get sick of trawling through a huuge list of artists.. then through albums to find one track.. then start it all again when i get sick of listening to the same band.. it seems like it would be an endless trail of getting sick of a band and changing it..

then again if i just had some nondescript playlists id be pissed off trying to find one particular song in hundreds.. cuz I do that alot.. finding one specific song that i feel like listening to

Ah yeah I had similar problems with my 4th gen.. touchweel fuck ups and volume problems.. its one of the most annoying things ive dealt with..

when ipods work they are the shit.. but no kudos for apple.. they let themselves down major on reliability

ipods are bullshit, my screen cracked and the cheap bastards at apple wont replace it, so now im stuck with a broken screen on my 250 dollar ipod that i hadn't had for even half a year. i think its kind of a waste of money. i can still use it though and i do love it, theyre so useful when you need to kill time or when your high everything is better through headphones..

i have 5 playlists
country
rock
rap
eminem
funny shit

personally i dont see why people put a playlist for each artists... it doesnt make sence to me because on your ipod you can go to artists under music... oh well. to each his own

I love my ipod. I have 60 gigs, but I wish I had spent the extra 50 and got a video instead of a photo. Regardless Ive had it for over a year and it works fuckin awesome. I got the first gen itrip, broke it, and got the new one that plugs into the bottom. I havent used headphones with my ipod in over half a year Id say... I just find a radio and tune it to a station and blast away.

I have 4800 songs almost all full albums, stored as music, as iTunes files, and as the mp3/wma formats before they were reformatted... so thats 4800 songs stored 3 different times lmao. Plus I have an extra 2000 or more songs just stored as memory, havent been able to add em yet, and about 8000 instrumentals and possibly 1000 vocal tracks (my friend is a dj and his whole list is on his computer, so I just dragged and dropped) that are also currently stored. I also have to get the rest of my other friends music library from his brothers computer.. I never managed to get it all before he died, but theres probably another 5,000 songs that I dont have. Im gonna need an 80 gig...

the same fucking thing happened with my ipod and it pisses me off...i just have a mini, and i have a shit ton of music on my laptop, so i spent soooooooo much time and getting all of my absolute faves and putting them on my ipod. and now, it autosynced and i have to do all that shit again :(

and mine freezes up a lot, and it pisses me off. i have very little patience with electronics. i'm normally a very laid back person, but fucked up electronics or just shitty electronics and bad / unnecessarily slow drivers are the only things that cause me to anger pretty quickly...

I just hit the 40 gig mark on itunes yesterday. Yay! Anyways, I have a 60gig video that I bought after my 2nd gen Ipod died. I'm a little shocked at the problems people have been having. I bought my first ipod before it was trendy and before it had a click wheel, and that SOB lasted FOREVER. It's still around, just in need of a new battery.

Back to topic, I tend to not make that many playlists. I like letting it play on complete random and seeing what pops up. These days, thats the only way I can appreciate my collection.

I love my ipod. I have like 800-ish songs, on the ipod itself and another 400 different ones on my pc i tunes. I had to start over once my cpu broke. It's annoying, i can't add any more songs to the ipod without erasing all of them ffs =/

Meh, i still love my ipod, and practically never leave the house without it.

yea so i loved my ipod,i got all my music from a friend who has like a years worth on his comp. i had over 5k songs on it with all the classics and all the best artists you could name. name it i prob had it.

i had some much music i didnt know what to do with it sometimes.

but lately the worst happened. i downloaded the new itunes and walked away fromt he comp. turns out that it reverted to the default settings and sinc'ed my ipod with what was on my comp, like nothing but rap and some marley and greatful dead cds.

so now i have like nothing and need to get it all back but the dude is on eurotrip.

but other than that.... it is my most prized possession. :greenthumb:

Lol that's odd, usually when I'm high my iPod is in my ears so I'd be doing my laundry/listening to iPod haha. Weed + music = :D. I'd probably end up washing my PSP though, I don't even use it anymore :p.

I just hook my iTrip up, set my ipod to shuffle randomly through all the songs, and play it through my stereo at full blast lol.

I once had a 4800 song marathon... Since I have like 50 days of straight music, I decided to start playing and just mark some of the good songs and what number they are... kind of like a countdown.. only a countUP. But then I allowed the battery on the ipod to die like an idiot so somewhere around 3000 straight songs the marathon ended.. such a stoner ending lol.

Might as well ask a question in this thread....

If I got an ipod, would I be able to transfer music, or files from one computer to another, using my ipod as storage... kind of like a flash drive or something?

George W Bush
06-19-2007, 10:34 PM
NO!!!!!!!

Well thats what Ipod wants you to think.

The correct answer is yes

There are fiels on the net that will let you do just that.

Go to download.com and search

Yeah iPods are one of my favourite inventions at the moment. They're so simple - just an mp3 player attached to a portable drive - but still, I think they rule.

Um, I just set my music up like this. I don't have any single songs, just albums, so every song has the right song, track number, artist, album name... Then I just seperate all of the albums into genres, so instead of playlists I just put my iPod on shuffle and then whack on whatever genre I feel like listening to. :)
